Hi old friends (and new),

Decided to try out my NACS charger yesterday up at the Tesla charging station in Payson, AZ. I tried 2 different chargers and could not seem to get it to work. I connected the converter to the Tesla line first and then plugged it into my car, and it kept telling me that it wasn't charging. The "manual" seemed to show that you plug in the converter first and then connect the Tesla cord, but I couldn't get it to connect that way. The only thing that seemed a bit strange is that even after depressing the button to create a firm connection between the station cord and the converter, with a little force, I could pull the two apart.

I've never used a Tesla station before, so I don't know if there are other steps, but overall, I'm a bit stumped. Again, though I can put together IKEA furniture with ease, I tend to struggle with the simplest things, so I'm sure someone will ask if I pressed the giant green button on the converter that says Press Here to Start Charging You Idiot and I'll say, "no, I didn't think to try that."

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Welcome back, the Payson Tesla SC says that it is Tesla only. Hence, it will not work with Air or Gravity. It must be the older Tesla SC that do not support CCS communication.

Thanks...and as I said, simple answer, but something that I clearly didn't know. Where do you find that information, btw?

This is a learning process for all of us. Thanks to all for sharing their knowledge.

If you use the Tesla app you can see it there but I am guessing that you don't so the next best source is plug share. Pull up the SC site and it will say Tesla Only for sites that we cannot use and it will say Open to Non-Tesla for sites that we can use.

Use the Lucid app. Welcome back!

Another outstanding and equally simple answer...good to be back, Bob! Now I just have to keep myself from looking at all the Gravity posts!

I wasn't sure exactly what you meant - the button on the bottom of the adapter is to release the NACS cable from the adapter, not to attach it. You just push the NACS plug into the adapter without pressing any buttons.
