For computers, bricked means not only not functioning, but rendered incapable of getting back to functioning. As in, you can’t even wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS, because some firmware or whatever is blocking you from doing literally anything.
So when I hear “bricked” in terms of a car, I would assume broken to the point of not being fixable. But of course others might use this term more loosely to just mean not currently drivable.
