Brand new 2025 AGT. Unclear how to best make this work consistently.
Sometime unlocks when I'm ten feet away - in my garage. Sometimes I get to touch the car then it works after a few annoying seconds of delay.
Do I need to unlock the phone? etc.

What phone

iphone 15 pro
I find mobile key is pretty predictable, but sometimes takes an extra second or two. As long as the app is running in the background, if you take your phone out of your pocket and lift it up above the belt line of the car, it will “see“ it better. It does not register well from the rear of the car when you approach it. If the lagging bothers you, I suggest you carry the fob. I personally haven’t done so in well over a year, but I don’t mind waiting a second or two.

Congrats on the AGT. Honestly I wish I could give you an answer. I have the same with both my wife's iPhone and my Android. Is the Lucid phone app active on your phone?

I would search this forum, but there are many, many posts on this. The main culprit is the fact that the iPhone will put the bluetooth to sleep to conserve battery when not in use, this delays the car detecting the phone sometimes. The easiest solution is to tap the screen or press a button on the side while walking to the vehicle to wake the phone.

Thanks... My son's Mustang EV has the same feature and works like a champ.

Yet another "unworthy of a car of this caliber" implementation.

Please review the forum guidelines. We certainly do welcome you to the forum, and congratulations on your new vehicle. My GT just hit 30,000 miles and I still love it every day. Your first few posts have been exceedingly negative and have mentioned items that have been discussed on this forum numerous times. I encourage you to use the search before piling on. There are certainly things about the car that many of us would improve, and the fob is definitely one of them. This has been discussed literally thousands of times here. Simply posting another new thread or comparison to your other vehicle does not add anything. It is specifically forbidden in our guidelines. Please consider dialing back your tone and being a little bit more neighborly and friendly around here. Thanks very much.

Sorry... Will do... Apologize...

Is there a way to just use your phone as the key and not have to punch in numbers once you are in the car ?

Do you have mobile key set up? You should never have to punch numbers in.

I do now...Thanks.

I solely use my iPhone as my key, and have learned that the phone needs to be “awake” for the proximity to work, so more times than not, have to take my phone out of my pocket to “wake” it up. So I usually take it out of my pocket and touch the phone to the door handle it it unlocks it.
