Hi

Strongly considering leasing a gravity touring. My understanding is that the vehicle doesn't offer a mobile wifi hot spot? What are work arounds people are using? Just a regular cell mobile hot spot? Never used starlink, but is that also an option? Would you be able to stick it on the glass roof?
 
guess I never needed to use a mobile hot spot via my car before to even have known about it

On the rare occasions when I need to give access to a non-cellular device (eg. Laptop) while under way, I just use the hotspot on my phone.
 
With my phone having a Hotspot I've just never considered or bothered to use them in any car I've owned. I have no experience with Star Link so can't advise there.

More for my kids on longer drives. Not needed on day to day activities.
 
For what it's worth, @borski tried Starlink in their Gravity and I don't think he found a good solution to using it while on the go. The windshield and glass roof have a metallic coating which blocks the signal.

Wonder if a cell mobile hotspot would suffer from the same issues

It shouldn't. Phones work just fine and a regular cellular hotspot uses the same frequencies. Starlink is much higher frequency, and higher frequencies are much more easily blocked by thinner shielding.

Turns out my dish was broken. Needed a replacement. Crazy, since nothing other than Lucid is ever supposed to break ;)

Works fine through the side windows.
