It isn't good to plug in and unplug the connector to the 14-50 outlet on the wall regularly; they aren't rated for that many insertions, and will eventually become loose. Back when I used that cable for daily charging, I left it hanging on the wall of my garage except when going on long road trips when I thought I might need it.
It eventually because unreliable, and investigation showed that my electrician had used a cheap consumer grade 14-15 outlet that was now overheating. Rather than just replace the outlet, I had a hardwired "charger" put in, and chose a ChargePoint. I now carry the cable in my trunk just in case I ever need it while away from home. I do a lot of driving in remote rural areas and know if I'm ever in a jam, I can go to an RV park for a boost to get me to a real charger.
