Missing lane centering

New owner here -Air Touring. The most recent OTA did nothing to improve my experience with Lane keeping. Certainly have never experienced lane centering. I don’t have DDP. Is that a necessary feature? My vehicle after three months rarely recognizes lane departure possibly one in 10 times is it defective or are others experiencing this?

Yes, you haven't experienced lane centering because you don't have it. It is part of DD Pro. The feature you have is just a warning for when you cross a line without using your blinker.

Disappointed. My 23 RAV4 centers perfectly. Only another 9k would have gotten me that. Thanks for the info

Following up on this, I just got an Air Touring three days ago. I have DD Pro. It did lane centering when I turned it on when I was on the freeway, but I have no lane centering at all when I'm just driving on regular city streets. Is that the expected behavior? I was hoping to get lane centering wherever I'm driving. Should I turn something when I'm not driving on the freeway to get some level of driver assist?

Lane centering is part of Drive Assist and only works on mapped highways and freeways. It will not work on city streets.

Correction: they do not have to be pre-mapped. But it is geofenced to highways/freeways.

HD maps are used to improve it if available, but are not required for DA to work
