Metal vs Glass roof

You would take the range hit in moving from a Grand Touring to a Touring just to get the metal roof? Or is a metal roof now available on a Grand Touring?

It is available on the GT, but since Lucid isn't allowing custom Air builds right now, I'd have to get lucky and find one in inventory. I will be waiting until 2027 anyway.
 
The one time I brought my Pure AWD in for service, they gave me a GT with glass roof. I really wasn’t happy with it as I was immediately bothered by the sun beaming in on the right side of sunroof. There was no way I could position the factory visor to keep the sun from bugging me. I also thought the way the visor was affixed to the glass just gave it a weird look.
 
I’m glad I went with the metal roof. A glass roof with the fairly weak ac would be brutal down here.

We have had the glass canopy in our Air in Naples for almost four years. It does work the A/C pretty hard at times, but we have never been uncomfortable in the cabin, even when parked in the sun for long periods in cell phones lots or at charging stations. Putting in the optional sunshades did reduce the A/C load and prevent some glare, but we went without them for two years before finally getting them for a long summer road trip. However, it came at the cost of making the wonderfully airy cabin feel a bit more claustrophobic, particularly with the Air's high belt line.

This ^ has been observed by an illiterate reviewer (doesn't understand passive lock/unlock) of the Sapphire which has a solid roof.

The lower windshield / sight-line of the solid roof has a noticeable "looking out of the cave" feeling compared to the glass canopy.

The glass of the windshield gets so hot it melts the adhesive on the EZpass Velcro strips.
Even the back of the binnacle = way too hot for the Velcro adhesive: it liquefies. You need a mechanical to hold a transponder against the glass = Lucid should provide a piece of wire coat hanger for this. I attach mine to the sun visor, but it still falls off. I guess they don't have transponders in California / Arizona ? so no need to provide accommodation for them?

I regret getting it tinted = ruins the view.

The glass canopy is definitely awesome...especially from the rear seats.

2025+ has a heat pump. 2024 and earlier had AC condensers
