I agree, and heated steering wheel and seats and laminated acoustic glass should be standard too. I get the germans offer a 'cold-weather' option but that is legacy ICE thinking.

My conjecture is that they started to fix an issue with the rear seat motors but then realized they were other areas that could be improved (frunk latch not working, for example) and areas that could be revamped or discontinued (HUD, Titanium). They probably decided best to close shop and address most of these issues for the 2027 model to avoid flooding the service centers with known issues.

I do think we'll see a new color in place of the titanium. I'd imagine it'd probably be easier to just copy the cosmos silver from the Air or probably throw in a the fathom blue metallic as a sixth option. I think that would the more realistic expectation. I also imagine they would simplify or combine some of the current options to avoid making so many configurations.

The more idealistic version of me is hoping for an exciting new color (a new red or dark orange perhaps? Gold? Beige?) or maybe an X trim like the concept they unveiled last year, but Lucid has their hands full so I'm tempering my expectations accordingly and just hoping the 2027 model is a result of lessons learned from the 2026.

The manager at my local showroom said 27s in September. I know that’s traditionally the timeframe for legacy auto. He also is motivated to make a sale this month, so I don’t consider his estimate reliable. My guess is that even employees at local showrooms don’t know for sure when the 27s are coming.
 
How much production would be lost if 27s don't arrive until September? I'd be surprised if they are not available in April or May at the latest. We'll know more (may be) when quarterly results are announced in April.

Not much, probably. I personally don’t think demand is especially strong for $100,000+ EVs. They just need enough to get to mid size ASAP.
 
I think demand is strong as well. And if Lucid wont have meaningful numbers of midsize until 2027, then hitting the 25-27k production numbers means that Gravity needs to restart sooner than later.

FWIW, one can find a wider variety of cars if you exclude the towing package, which is not included with too many vehicles, and can be added on later by a service center. (granted, for an increased cost, though not that much in the scheme of things).

Wheels can also be swapped with other members later, too.
 
I have a feeling the configurator will start doing custom orders in April. This whole thing feels like they're just trying to get rid of inventory they created in the Q4 push. I do agree they created a lot of inventory with less popular configurations. If they only built the configurations that people ordered they wouldn't be in this position.... 😒

I wouldn’t be surprised if these were custom orders where customers chose to cancel their orders and they are left with those choices. My DE was a cancelled order, which happened to be available when I called to cancel my LT order (way before they officially cancelled the choice.)
 
I think a couple of things were going on. Lucid had Gravity available, but they didn't have may at all out in the sales/service centers for customers to see and pick up. I'm sure they lost some customers who liked the car (test drive), but didn't want to order one and wait 60 days or whatever to get it. At the time the sales guys could do little but speculate. Secondly, Lucid had a production quota to hit for its FY2025 guidance. To do that, given the part shortages, they had to build Gravities with the parts they had on hand. Finally, I think it's a new car and Lucid wasn't sure exactly how popular each of the option packages would be. They could be better at knowing what people want and are willing to pay for if they were building stock cars for the sales/service centers today.
