Lunar Titanium Availability?

As someone who has roadtripped quite a bit with my Air Touring, I can tell you, having a GT isn't as big an advantage as most people think.

Sure, there are specific trips where you could skip charging altogether that would be nice. But more often than not, you're going to want to stop more than the car needs to stop on most trips, anyway. And having the car at a lower SOC when you do stop gets you back up to the range you need for your next stop that much faster.

Not saying the extra range isn't a nice to have; just saying it's overpriced for the benefit you get.

Same goes for horsepower. Every GT owner tells me how much they "miss" the extra HP whenever they get a Touring loaner.

Okay.

I can get from 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds. That's faster than a Porsche 911 Turbo was when I was a kid. And it's way faster than I'll ever need to merge into traffic on even the worst designed highway onramp.

Realistically, unless you are putting your car in Sprint whenever you get on the highway, you aren't getting much more horsepower than I have when I do put my car in Sprint on the highway.

So yeah. The extra HP is "fun". But you can't argue it's not overpriced.

Massage seats? Take my money now. Full leather interior? Now you're talking. These are things I'm happy to pay for.

I suspect having the larger battery will be a bigger deal in a car like Midsize platform. Where the extended range will be more like a Gravity Touring, and the smaller pack will get you somewhere in the 300 mile EPA range.

For Gravity and especially Air, it's not as big a deal.

I have the white + stealth. The front bar actually has two pieces -- the top part is black, while the bottom is shiny at certain angles. Not as shiny as platinum
Yes, it does. But it is definitely not black and I don’t think that part matches the other stealth trim. Maybe someone can post who has one?

The stealth package is unique in the sense it has two colors. Stealth offers the dark chrome (we’ll call it) on the front aero blade, the roof line accent piece and the wheels if you got 21/22 or 22/23. Everything else in the stealth package is piano black. The piece behind the aero blade where Lucid lights up is piano black. Unlike the platinum appearance package where everything is shiny silver. The aero blade, roof line accent piece, wheels if 21/22 or 22/23, lower front lip, accent piece next to front blinkers, side skirt accent and rear bottom trim are all the same shiny silver. And I would add the platinum package does a better job of the piece behind the aero blade that lucid lights up matches.

For lunar titanium, I would argue platinum would look the best. Since the two pieces in silver almost match and close to the paint color. Versus stealth one piece is black and the other dark chrome which doesn’t have a nice flow to the hood lines. That’s why I the aero blade in stealth looks the best on black exterior since the blade looks like the only accent on the front since the black piece behind the blade blends into the paint. After my black/stealth lease is up I’m going to order lunar titanium with platinum.

Yep. I'm really not a fan of the two-tone aspect of the nose blade of Stealth for Gravity. Works for the car when it's black, like you said. But for lighter colors, it's just too much visual noise for me.

Platinum for Lunar Titanium all the way, as far as I'm concerned. Of course, that means you have to bump up the wheel size to get matching lighter wheels as well. The smallest wheels are always stealth for Gravity, which is unfortunate. That mismatch really drives me nuts.

Agreed, drives me nuts as well you can’t get the smallest wheels in platinum. And actually the smallest wheels do not match the stealth either. They are offered in a dark grey, onyx grey specifically. Which, yes is pretty close to stealth but still not matching.

As someone who has AG Platinum, I personally think Platinum is the worse looking choice on ever color I’ve seen (which is every color except LT, of course).

Again, it’s a total preference thing. I just think it’s gaudy and doesn’t look sleek or sporty or “rough” SUV or anything other than “umm, why’d that person get that?”.

But, it’s not awful and I am certainly happy to have taken delivery months earlier because I was willing to get platinum.

I saw a video of a Black GGT with Platinum, and I think I became somewhat of a Platinum convert... but only with that combo. And this from a guy where everything has to be grey including, Land Rover, Gravity, oatmeal and underwear.

Note that the Gravity Touring has a slower max charging rate than the Grand Tourning. I think it's 350kW vs 400kW (although we just saw a GT at a Tesla V4 pull over 410kW). I won't argue that this is a small difference of only a few minutes per charge (15 minutes vs 11 for 200 miles, says Lucid).

But, for my California road tripping use case (the main road trip we do a few times a year), the extra starting range means we get from Silicon Valley to Santa Barbara without stopping to charge at all, and only 1 charge stop to get to Orange County. With 25% less range in the Touring, I wonder if we'd have to make two stops. I totally get the "humans need more pit stops than the car" thing (especially with my prostrate), but finding stops with high power charging that coincide with my bladder isn't simple. Then again, being able to use many Tesla SCs means finding chargers isn't that hard.

I do agree, that for many, the Touring is the way to go, especially since Lucid doesn't restrict you on any of the other options like some OEMs do. Good choice, Lucid!

They didn’t throw out faster charging. Smaller battery = slower max charging speed.

I’m no electrical engineer, but that’s what the electrical engineers here have said many times over.

That’s why Air Touring has a slower max speed than Air GT. It’s a limit of physics, not a marketing decision.

The good news is that with a smaller pack, it takes roughly the same time to “fill” it to 80% anyway. And you’ll get better efficiency.
That's right. The way to think about it is that each individual cell has a maximum charging speed. So a car with 100 cells takes twice as much power when charging at max speed as a car with 50 cells charging at max speed. The individual cells fill up at the same rate either way, even though the smaller car has a lower maximum charging power for the whole pack.

I've driven to LA a number of times from San Francisco, only stopping to charge once.

Slower max speed, yes. But smaller battery means you get to that 80% almost as fast.

Santa Barbara, yes. That's the sort of niche use case I was talking about where the trip may be just far enough that you can't quite make it without charging. That's the only time it makes any real difference. If you do that trip every weekend, by all means, the GT is worth the time savings there. If it's a once or twice a year thing, I'd still argue it's not worth the money.

Doesn't mean I wouldn't do it. Just that it's not good value.

For my LT/Platinum order, since I want the 20/21's for range and snow driving, I plan to simply contrast the Onyx grey wheels with the silver bear logo center caps and silver valve stem caps so it won't "drive me nuts" as much!😜

Post some pics when you get that done. Curious.

Totally agree! I think it’s a miss by Lucid to not offer single tone color for the cars.. almost all cars are like that, and I think a lot of buyers don’t want the design of the car to stand out (or at least, not because of chrome trim).

I hope they change it for v2 of Gravity. And offer blue and red.

The configurator no longer shows a delay for LT!

Currently considering reordering after my cancelled first day order...

LT + Yosemite
LT + Ojai

Still haven't ever seen Ojai in the wild (other than samples on the wall).

The ojai is a lot of gray, but since its leather, the arm rests on the doors are leather.

Unfortunately the Yosemite luxe uses cloth for the door arm rests. Leather for the center armrests.

That was what I was hoping to avoid with the Ojai. I didn't like the concept of Ojai with the Green exterior but LT+Yosemite may have too little contrast, and I don't want bright radioactive orange (intentionally cue outrage), so I'm considering Ojai as a middle ground.

The sad thing is that I resonate more personally with Lake Tahoe and the Yosemite valley than I do with the Ojai area. If I went with Ojai I would just tell people "brown leather"...

What would be nice is some kind of off-white leather that referenced the CA coast... Pebble Beach - sand?

Jump in! My order is LT+Yosemite (with Stealth). I am having a very hard time choosing between this and Platinum - reading everyone else’s opinions on this on the forum (thanks) only left me more undecided (if there is such a thing) 😜

One positive is that with all this waiting time the build and software quality has improved (although the software still has long way to go).

Also happy to hear the interim CEO’s comments regarding more OTA updates getting over the hump by March… at least we know they know and are working on it, even if the March becomes June or July (very likely based on how difficult I know those projects are)

My delivery guy said Ojai is vegan leather while the orange one is real leather. I thought they were both genuine leather, so I'm confused. Haven't seen it in person either

I am not sure that is correct about the vegan leather. For the Ojai, the website says “Nappa Full-Grain and Premium Natural Grain Leather in Lucid Black and Graphite with Carbon Oak trim.”

He's wrong.
