Lucid, please bring the "Keep On" charging setting for the power ports back to the Air if you can via software update,

I have a radar detector with a Dashcam (Escort MaxCam 360c) connected to the console power port (either USB-C or USB-A with adapter) and a Dashcam (Escort M2) in the rear window connected to the trunk 12V port. I'd love to keep them powered on all of the time (24/7), as appears the Gravity can do (have one of those on order too, LOL) to simulate a sentry mode when the vehicle is parked. It would be a new wunder from the wunderbox.

Better yet, open up dashcam recordings off the built-in cameras.

That is an intersting screen! I wanted the opposite.

In my 2025 Air Pure, the trunk outlet is always on, and the USB is only on when the car is on. Since I run my ham radio via a heavy 12V wire from the trunk outlet to the front, I wanted the trunk outlet to be off when the car is off. I did that via a triggered relay box in the trunk, operated by the 5V USB signal from the front. That also required a USB 'decoy' plug in the front, since you only get 5V there when requested via a compatible USB device.

I like that they have the option for to keep on vs turn off with the vehicle. I have a radar detector that I would prefer turn off with the vehicle. However, as for a dashcam, obviously you'd want it to say on.

Are you sure the trunk 12V is always hot? That's not what I'm seeing in my 2025 Air Touring - it would actually be the solution to my dash cams if so - run them both back to there. As it is now, the rear cam goes there but turns off after the car sleeps 😕

It is not. It only stays hot until the Air falls asleep. But it only does so in the “sleep” state, and not the “wink” state the car immediately falls into upon locking.

Thanks, I thought I was going crazy.

Is there anywhere on the air that these is a constant on 12V or 5V power supply? have wires, will travel!

I can't recall how I measured it, but it definitely stayed hot when I expected it to be off. It may be that Borski is correct, and it was not yet in a deep sleep. Nontheless, I went to a bit of trouble to assure that the 12 V to the front was off (a few seconds after) I locked the car and walked away.

I wish I had a wiring diagram of the car.

Not to my knowledge, and you wouldn’t want this because it would kill your 12v.

I can guarantee it. If yours acts differently, that is a problem.

I agree. You definitely do not want to lose that 12 V supply!! That's why I made sure my gadgets disconnected when I left the car

BUT depending on how much you drive, and how much current your device take,s there are other ideas: For example, you could charge a power pack from the USB port when uou are driving and use that battery to power your device. You could also use a solar cell to do the same. Steve

Here is a follow-up on my previous thought. I just bought a 20AH (20,000 mah) USB power bank on Amazon for about $20. These things are usually over-rated so I'm only hoping to get 10 AH out of it. I am going to use it to power a camera that takes about 0.25 A at 5 v via USB. So, I can expect about 40 hours (10/0.25) of camera use. I will recharge it at home.

But in your case, you could charge it from the car. The key is to see how much your camera draws. Something like a cheap DR USB stick will tell you.

This method will keep you from draining the super-critical 12 V battery.

Cheers, Steve

Have you considered connecting them to a battery pack that is connected to the power port and being recharged when the car is on?

Borski: Can you please estimate how long it takes for trunk 12V outlet to go off assuming that car is locked and no person, fob or card are nearby. Thanks!

Between 1 minute and 1:30.

Easiest way to tell is install home assistant or use testmycode.cc to query the api. If it’s in a sleep state it is down. If it’s in a wink state, it’s powered on.
