I think Lucid needs to extend the cool down period for the walk away lock and unlock.

If my phone is in my pocket and I go out the garage, put something in the bin, check the mail, and walk back inside, the stupid car spazzes out like its trying to fly away, locks and unlocks itself 3-4-5 times, eventually disabling the phone key. And yet half the time when you walk up to the car, it doesn't unlock at all.

This is stupid behavior. Give the car a 30-60 cool down period so this doesnt happen over and over. Nobody is hiding behind the bush to get in the car the second I walk away-there is no need for it to be this hair-trigger to lock. The way Tesla does it is perfect, Lucid should just copy that. Keep unlock how it is, extend walk away lock cooldown time so they don't sit there and go off over and over again.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk

Aren’t you really asking for it to stay unlocked in the garage? That’s what i want. I don’t want to have to bring my key to the car if it is in the garage because i left my bag in there or something.

I have a treadmill in my garage next to my car. When I am working out with my phone on me, my Lucid constantly locks and unlocks, I think because my body moves a few inches further or closer to the car constantly. Sometimes I disable bluetooth on my phone to prevent this, but if I use my AirPods, I need BT connectivity. I used to be able to open the Lucid iPhone app when the car was unlocked, manually press LOCK, and the car would reliably stay locked until I left my garage or went back to press UNLOCK from the app. For the past month or so, the iPhone app always shows the car is locked, even when it is clearly unlocked, and pressing lock/unlock in the app has no effect.

Can you not choose the location to disable walk away lock?

they should be able to geofence locking like Tesla does, yes, but even this would be better. It's crazy how sensitive it is.

Locking delay as well as Geofencing have both been requested numerous times. At this point, it doesn’t seem that they’re going to be adding those.

nope

meanwhile, making the car wake up from the app takes an hour

There used to be a trick to getting active unlock / lock to stop happening when nearby. You would lock it with the fob, then click one time again to lock again. At that point it would ignore all motion with the fob / phone for 15 minutes. That seems to have been broken somewhere in recent updates, however. Hope they can get that going again. It wasn't perfect, but it helped.

I agree, geofencing would be the ideal way to fix it. Let us designate places where active doesn't trigger. It's on their list of todos, which is about 150 miles long at this point.

It’s weird that they have geofencing for Homelink, but not locking. Clearly they know garages exist.

I think it really is just that they have so many things on their list right now that it's hard to know when they will get to half of it.

They do make progress over time, as anyone who has had the car for three years knows. But like most software, it improves way too slowly. And sometimes takes a step or two backwards.

I remind myself on a daily basis that it's entirely possible computers were a mistake. As a concept, I mean.

This. It's not that they don't care; it's that you can't do all of the things at once with a finite set of resources / humans, and right now there are bigger fish to fry.

I literally say this daily
