Mine worked with about five minutes of highway driving in middle lane. I had the menu for drive assist open on the main screen and the ‘unavailable’ flag turned off and it was active after that.

DDPro is WAY better with lane changes and overall awareness. Hands free is really nicely implemented too. And the google places enhancement is very welcome. 🙏🏾
 
Is this automatic or manual?

So, have you installed the update on either Gravity and, if so, has it helped?

All kidding aside, though, I wonder what happens if you can't find such optimal conditions for a 30-minute stretch.

Will the new features not activate at all, or will they activate but with perhaps less precision?

Mine didn’t need a half hour. Just some time on a road with lines on both sides, as opposed to curbs or neighborhood roads

It only came through to our cars midday today. I downloaded to the cars in sequence this afternoon and evening and haven't yet put either car on the road.

The response to the key fobs did seem good, but that had improved a bit since 3.5.7, anyway, and I haven't tried it with the cars outside the garage.

One thing that it didn't fix was the roving, errant LED accent light strips in our older Gravity. Today it was the passenger door panel that was partially blacked out. This was where the problem first appeared before later switching to the dashboard strip more often.

My trick to make Live View work, was to disable Wi-Fi or cellular on the phone.

When both on, seems like it can't decide which connection to use.

Hopefully (😳) that ends up being a hardware issue and not addressable via software. Wish it wasn’t happening to you at all.

Good luck on the testing and I’m looking forward to hearing if it improves your ownership experience.

Does that mean a sideline was sufficient even if one of the lines didn't mark a full lane on that side? If that's the case, I can probably use Alligator Alley (I-75 through the Everglades) although its traffic can be a bit heavy at times.

In Florida, any roadway with three lanes in one direction is going to be carrying heavy traffic. In areas where traffic loads are lighter, the highways usually drop to dual lanes -- even I-75 and I-95.

I ran errands on Michigan suburban roads that have a centerline and white paint along the shoulder. It took a couple errands but eventually (I didn’t record it since I figured it had to be expressway) the DDP Limited warning went away.

I’m not a big fan of not having my hands on the wheel (my wife would say I’m an assertive driver), so it wasn’t important to get the miles on for me, however the warning went away quicker than I expected.

I've heard differing opinions both from the Service Center and from other posters on whether it's hardware or software. The Miami Service Center said they detected a miscalibration in the controller that they fixed by reprogramming it. But the problem recurred soon afterward and frequently since.

I raised the issue with Emad Dlala, and he thought it might be a hardware issue, but with a possible software workaround.

It's not a unique issue to our older Gravity. It's occurred a couple of times in our newer Gravity, but always only on the passenger door panel in that car. And other posters have reported the issue both on their door panels and their dashboards -- at exactly the same portion of the strip as on ours.

So you can do this cumulatively instead of all at once?

(I'm not looking forward to having to put two cars on the road for a half hour each when just the right conditions present themselves.)

Truly wild what software glitches/bugs can do. I’m fortunate to not have experienced it.
