2026 LUCID GRAVITY GT
I have 6,800 miles on my Gravity. I was driving to PGH PA today on the freeway and now I hear a deep loud noise coming from right front end. Sounds like a 18 wheel truck that is traveling down an incline and then lets off the accelerator pedal. That’s the deep / loud sound I hear. This sound does not vary with drive mode, state of regenerative mode, and does not cause any vibrations to the wheels . It occurred from 60 to 80 mph speed range. Occurs at steady speeds… it sounds terrible.

Any clues on what this may be!

I had something like this happen on my Toyota Highlander -- one of the plastic mount brackets broke loose, and the wheel well liner started touching the wheel, but only at freeway speeds. Thought I'd blown a wheel bearing or something. Check to see if anything might be coming loose and touching the wheel?

as said earlier it could be something came loose or is caught underneath.

does the noise change when you turn the wheel one way or another? might be wheel bearings if so.

I'm taking mine back for something looked at earlier this year, which they thought they resolved but didn't, which is also front end noise related. When going around 60-65 or higher and turning the wheel left, I get a noise like droning or humming from the left front. No vibration either. Last time they replaced the wheel bearings on the left side which did little (I had advised them to look at the opposite side first, which is the norm).

I think they'll be looking at the front drive unit in general and wheel bearings on the right side this time around. I get an occasional "Drive System needs service" notification that comes and goes too. It's Lucid's "Check Engine" light apparently.

Is it speed related? Quicker repeats or louder the faster you go, changes when you are going slower?

The sound I occur inbetween 60 and 80 mph. Somdriving straight. Noise is independent of drive selection (smooth, sprint, swift modes) and is independent on regenerative mode selection.

The sound lis like deep humming sound

It does not occur with steering.

Not speed related…
Not regenerative brake related
Occurs when driving straight

That does sound a lot like mine, similar speed range too. But as I said earlier, it only occurs in my case when going to the left, straight or to the right it's not there.

When I picked it up last time, they said it could be one of the front drive units, and it just needed time to "break-in." I'm not sure I buy that. It sounds like a load balancing issue on come steering component.

It certainly doesn't seem to be operating correctly. I'd call Customer Care, where they hear way more input from customers, and let them tell you they've not heard of something like this. Then, they'll schedule something at your service center. I would not start at the Service Center - their experience is limited to what they've seen and service bulletins - a much smaller universe of unusual incidences.

Just my 2 cents....

was the car's battery pre-conditioning at that moment? I think I heard a similar humming from mine on a recent road trip, which I associated with battery preconditioning, not sure. I could hear it for 5-10 mins and then it was gone. Haven't heard it before

I had a similar sound. It went away after the service center rebuilt the wheel bearings as part of a service bulletin

Nope. I was driving about 70-75 mph and heard this oscillating deep / loud sound .

Do you happen to know which bulletin that was? I'd like to reference it when I bring mine in again as the SC seemed to be flying blind with mine.

Would like to hear the noise. But you'd have to FedEx your phone around to everyone here because that's a link to the file on your phone. 😊

It was TSB-S0625-001-01, which was actually for a clicking noise. But as part of the TSB they grease the pilot bore of each wheel bearing. The noise stopped after this service visit.

They also removed and retorqued the high voltage battery shear plate during the same visit, so it could have been that.

I had this exact same problem recently (ironically also driving to/around Pittsburgh but I don’t think that matters). I believe it only happens when driving fast enough AND when the front air intake vents are open. My car is currently in service and they are trying to diagnose but haven’t been able to reproduce it themselves yet.

It’s probably the same issue as this: https://lucidowners.com/threads/gravity-noise-at-high-speeds.13128/
