Just found this thread as my wife and I drive from NYC to Saratoga and experience this issue for the first time.
Picking up on a couple of the comments we played with the ac settings and reliably round that the issue only occurs when the air is set to “intake” - if you toggle to “recirculate” it goes away in 2-3 seconds (and starts again if you toggle back).
Not a fix, but helpful maybe.
