Lucid Gravity 5,000 Mile Review! The Best Driving SUV Crippled By Software Annoyances

Thanks for sharing the video. Lucid tells me they are hard at work squashing bugs and improving robustness. I told them we’ll keep on top of the gravity story and update you all (and our viewers) as the car becomes more stable
I’m glad you did that video and as painful as it is to see this vehicle I absolutely love to drive get taken to the principal’s office for trouble making, it was necessary medicine for Lucid to take….and they are already getting better as 3.3.20 has fixed a ton of issues for me. HVAC hurricane noise is gone, keyfob alerts thus far are gone, other false alerts so far are gone, lengthy black screens on boot up are gone, upper screen navigation doesn’t put the car on a side street or some distance away as it’s done for me in the past. While I’ve only had the update for a day it seems evident they’re FINALLY on the path to stability and can hopefully focus more on adding features now. I’m also now 20% less angry at my left steering wheel pad as those locations you’re pressing helped me find a more consistent, albeit very narrow range of response and was finally able to get it to control DDPro reliably, though I can understand Scott’s frustration when she said “get me out of this car” cuz it’s not fun when you push the button that’s supposed to change speed and the car does nothing.

The Electric Viking weighs in with take:

He says BMW's new vehicles will "seal the fate of Lucid." Although he admits he hasn't driven a Lucid Gravity.
This guy also gushed over the Cybertruck so take that as you will
He’s also mainly a data/media farmer that relays things he reads in articles

Also regarding the headlight noise, that’s definitely real. The Air would do it, you’ll hear it cycle on and off, I just thought it was due to some incorrect electrical shielding from the glass cockpit and didn’t attribute it to the headlights but I definitely heard it in my Air, much more noticeable with climate off. I haven’t heard it once in my Gravity. 🤷‍♂️. I have tinnitus and hearing loss from my prior career too so I was surprised I could even hear it in the Air so I don’t think it’s super high frequency either.

In the air it’s the door switches, I did a thread in how to fix

Here's another one...... 😐

Lease ending on my stealth gt and think I'm going straight to the gravity. Issues with the gt was constant frunk issues but service was amazing and it was not a huge issue. I test drove many other luxury cars including the maybach, bmw, Porsche and Volvo and as nice as all are, nothing drives like the lucid. Not sure any other car will do, no self drive but I love driving this car, it's fun

Who’ll just leave this here….

Man, you are the most honest and true to life motors analyst online. Fact. But I got to tell ya that this rig - on which I rode to date, 18.000+ miles - after some 3 months of several rebootings from the steering wheel, she learned. Literally,Every reboot has been like poking a reluctant but very intelligent teenager on his books at high school. At first real OTA software update, the car’s systems became fully stabilized (possibly also because of my patient and relentless thumbs activity)….To me, the Gravity Grand Touring is outclassing all its EV competitors (and somehow, not only EVs….) 🌟🥇

About 20,900 miles for me in 11 months. Not a fan boy but it IS the best EV I’ve ever driven and I have a Gen 2 R1S and had the G1, Model X of various years and the S and Y.

Lots of ups and downs with the Gravity, but I just can’t quit it!
