Lucid Gravity 3.4.0 software update

When I watched NotchEV's You Tube video on Dream Drive he goes over a setting to disable this jarring experience. IIRC it's something to do with selecting posted speed limits vs. speed of the car in the setting but I may have that wrong.

Yes. 5’ or longer and it will eventually reboot. Just have to be patient and continue until the fingers are numb. Never like that with the Air. Always enjoyable to do the reboot after a long day of work and wanting to just go home…..

In my experience the car will not reset until you release the buttons and brake pedal. So continuing to hold it down may be preventing the reset? Not sure.

And if you release after the first ‘beep’ it doesn’t reset immediately but will do so after a few seconds. If you wait for the second beep, it resets immediately.

I had a similar experience two days ago.
Driving at 70ish with ACC on, when the car suddenly decreases speed to 45.
I believe it was a case of the cameras reading the speed limit sign of an exit ramp as I was driving past the exit.

A route I've driven many times, but first instance of reading a speed limit sign for an exit.
I don't recall if I was perhaps changing lanes (from left to right) and right side camera picked up the sign.
I drive by exits all the time, but first time for this experience. Only happened once.

Will have to drive the route again and test.

Now that I think about, I did have a 75 to 45 drop that I was confused about, as it wasn’t obvious why there would be a 45 limit. Maybe this is a new problem with 3.4.1. I’m going to keep an eye out for exit ramps and speed change errors to see if I can get definitive data for a bug report.

Bluetooth is probably 15-20% better in this update . Still sucks. I haven't had an issue with BT in even the cheapest cars out there. Makes no sense.

I spoke to my SA in San Jose yesterday and he said they had been replacing steering wheels because the microphone in the steering wheel was not functioning properly. But he thinks it was software now and that it has improved in newest update.

people have said that I’m now audible when I make calls but it’s not a dramatic improvement I agree.I’m hoping Lucid will continue to work on this.

In our early Dec 2025 build microphone quality seems OK - this was before 3.4.1, too. I'll try it now that I've gotten the update.

Definitely do more testing, as I will.

ACC will also adjust the speed if it detects something in the road. It's possible the system detected something that I didn't see and responded. I'm ok with the system performing as intended.

System error shouldn't falsely be blamed for human error or ability. I believe some undesired or unexpected driver experiences are being blamed on the car system(s) when they may actually be the result of human error. Perhaps in time with AI, the Lucid Assistant will speak up and say "Human error, not system error".

I got my 3.4.1 and it seems to be improved a lot.

But now none of my back sensors work. I don’t have the towing package, and Lucid said that they will get a special update for me soon. But honestly, I’m just tired.

If somebody has an idea on how to reset that warning, it will be amazing. Or disable that rear attachment manually, but I couldn’t find the option anywhere on the main panel or even inside the settings.

Man that sucks.

So I have a 600 mile half of my road trip completed on the new software and it has really been great. Remarkably stable and just a pleasure to use now. Got a buddy with me who has a Model 3 and this is his first time road tripping in Gravity and this software is his intro and he finds it smooth and awesome with no bugs at all. Having never experienced the other versions of software, he doesn’t see what the fuss was all about and that’s exactly as this car should be. It just does everything it’s supposed to. We got to meet up with Kyle and Scott from Out of Spec and give them our impressions of the update and they are excited to ge their hands on a car with the update to test it out themselves. Still have the return trip to go tomorrow, but I am quite happy with the software and can actually say I can recommend this car fully.

It could be a timing thing for you for the soft reset. I find that hitting one or two of the buttons a little before all 3 causes it not to work. If after 10 seconds I don’t get the reboot message, I let go and try again. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 attempts to get it. As for the black screens and nothing working at all, I only had that happen once and holding the buttons for like a minute or two was the only thing I could do to trigger reboot….

Buddy and I drove from Park City to Steamboat three days ago (day after I received the new OTA update) to ski - three hundred plus miles. All past problems were eliminated and no new ones have yet to appear. After I stoped to charge on the way, the front cameras did go blank after we unplugged and put the car in drive. A soft reset cured the problem. Hasn’t reoccurred. I’ve found that, for me, the “reset” doesn’t initiate until I release the buttons.

Oh man, I really envy you. I took delivery less than 40 days ago, and I haven't had a day in which I can say that it was a smooth experience. Yesterday, I got my 3.4.1 update, and now all my back sensors are not working, and those basically prevent any notification from pedestrian collision, traffic collision, safe exit, auto park, unpark, etc.

I've been sending videos to Lucid Customer Care and a technician that Lucid sent me to fix the car, and at least they seem willing to fix my problems and help me. I really appreciate that; we even talk via phone while updating and help me to make a diagnostic of the car, but man, my wife and I are so frustrated with the car.

I know. It should not take that long, but it does with our car. Over the course of hours trying the first time it didn’t matter what order the brake or buttons were pushed, same time or not. It would not reset quickly. It is not like I haven’t had to do this reset or know how to do it. I’ve had the Air for four years and I have had my share of reboots. The Air always worked under a minute. This Gravity, nope. I just hold everything until it finally does 10’ later.

Perhaps the 3.4.1 will fix things when it arrives for our Gravity? In any case it is finally going into service tomorrow, for this and a range of other issues - always offline, homelink not working, key fob issues, key card issues, etc. etc.. are they all software? Who knows, but at least they can trouble shoot and do the delivery punch list items we have been asking for since December.

I sometimes have this issue... sometimes it reboots fine in 10 seconds, and sometimes I try several times for 20 seconds each time and it does nothing. Sometimes when I try it decides to adjust the trailer brake controller instead (even though I have nothing attached) so if you are getting false trailer errors that might be the culprit. Otherwise walking away from the car for 15 minutes and then returning seems to then usually let me reboot. I'm not sure if I've had this problem since 3.4.1 as we've been doing fewer reboots. It could also be a steering wheel hardware issue.

Well not to jinx it, but in 5 drives yesterday and today, no error messages and no internet drops! The first 2 days after getting 3.4.1 I was getting lots of them. Makes no sense, like something didn't fully work itself out for 2 days.

Or it's just coincidence. Time will tell.

2 days later and still no error messages. Not sure what the deal was those first 2 days after the update where I was getting MORE errors. But seems consistently good on that front now.

Today I got my first internet dropout in a few days though. Oddly, the satellite view on the map kept working. Usually when I lose internet, the satellite view freezes too. But I had done a U-turn so maybe it was still already loaded in the buffer? Internet returned on it's own about 5 minutes later, just as I was about to stop the car and reboot.

Anyone know if there's a way to turn off/on just the internal internet and try to force a reconnect while driving?

Mobile service came out for the third time on Friday and tried a few more things where none of them worked. They are out of options and back to engineering to understand what next steps are. It’s still confusing me as to what caused the update to fail. I’m surprised that it’s something so few people ran into. I wonder if this is a case where mobile service can’t address this as effectively as a SC could.

I hope I’ll get an update Monday.

The only issue seems to be that the fob and key cards don’t work. Therefore the car isn’t drivable but I can connect to the car via phone and the rest of the car appears to be fine despite the update failing.

I got to 94% install then "vehicle offline"....is this a problem?

Fixed it by turning off vehicle wifi, install completed.

Still can't open my front doors, didn't fix that issue

Lots of people commented earlier in the thread that it spends a long time in the lower percentages.

It’s normal, it took mine like 2 hours and a half. Also, when it was at 30%, it got stuck, but then it finished.

So Customer Care said to initiate the update from the car and avoid doing it from the phone. Hopefully this works. Waiting for the update to get pushed to my car again.
