Lucid Gravity 3.4.0 software update

  • DDP: Signal automatically ends after lane change or cancel.
Well, it usually lasts well after the lane change. I (DDP) have scarred people thinking I was going to keep changing lanes because the signal kept going well after the lane change. One person blasted their horn to warn me not to encroach into their lane, which the car was not doing.

Tesla has a better approach: the turn signal gets canceled appropriately(automatically) regardless of who initiated it when the cars moves to the new lane.

I am having this same issue as well as “video recording unavailable” when I put mine into park. I have reported it as a bug to Lucid but perhaps it is a hardware issue. If you are on Lucidtracker.app I added each of the variations I am seeing in that bug tracker with more details and pictures.
I was having a lot of problems with the cameras at the end of last year. Frequently, all the cameras would go out. Images from the blind spot cameras would freeze on the screen. Additionally, the Drive Recorder would be unavailable and I had to reformat the flash drive to get it working again. A few times, the camera failures also somehow prevented me from shifting gears. After the SC had it for ~4 weeks, they determined it was a Snapdragon UCC failure and replaced it. No issues whatsoever since (although 3.3.20 was installed by the SC, which may have fixed some of the issues - no way to tell).

Blind cameras definitely much sharper and higher resolution. I don't remember if they always had these corners being there, probably the camera housing. Anyone else on old or new SW have this too?
Yes, those appeared on mine as well.

I am with you on the turn indicator. Since day one, I have always had to play the guessing game for when they turn off or not. No improvement on this update, so still will be standing by for some improvement there.
Mine seems to work consistently. My only nitpick with the turn signal is that it requires an unusually high amount of force to turn it on fully vs just the 3-click lane change. Never had a car I've had to push it this hard to get to the full signal.

That's scary, because I've gotten used to it locking pretty dependably. If I have to crane my neck every time to see if the mirrors folded in now, that's gonna be disappointing for a $108k car.

There's a simple mitigating step for this that I can't believe Lucid didn't include from the very start... locking chirp. At least then we get the confirmation and know to listen for it. Simple tech that's been around for decades.
You can also just push in the handle.

Good to know. I wondered how to manually lock it (other than fob or app). Thought maybe the screen was the way but hadn't tried that yet to see if it does a delayed lock after exiting.

I used to manually lock (inside door button) my Mach-E too until they got the walkaway lock working more dependably. The Walkaway lock in our Porsche Macan EV has been dead solid perfect every time. With chirp. Happens at the perfect distance too (about 10 steps away). Zero concern walking away from that one without a thought.

Hoping the Gravity gets to the same point soon.

Have 2 days of driving with update, above all else we now get "can detect your face" error constantly with sunglasses on. Only 75% of the time with sunglasses off, and then back to constantly at night. It is VERY annoying!
Until that is fixed, we probably are going to drive the Tesla's...it's that annoying!
I'm surprised there is no other reports of this, so I'm wondering if the update broke our interior camera or something??
Update:
Checked settings and all alerts were still off. It's officially a new bug. Guess I'll report it via email.

Side views and blind spot warnings have all disappeared.
Resetting still required pressing for several minutes, in addition to an add-a-device screen coming out of nowhere.
HomeLink is unchanged and still requires several attempts.

Will someone who knows please say yes or no it Wi-Fi on or off to get the update? Surely Lucid has the smarts to monitor this blog. What’s the answer?

It makes absolutely no difference. Just leave it on.

Lucid left a brief message here last Friday basically saying they’re excited for us all to enjoy the update.
Haven’t responded since to any of the issues, nor answered any questions on when we are all expected to get it. Silence is never a good thing when you’re already trying to win back customer trust. Surely Lucid has a PR/social media team. I mean they can’t be as bad as Tesla…..

I have terrible cellular reception and have always connected to Wi-Fi in the last 4 years. No problem with the updates.

Sorry to hear this. I think it’s definitely worth reporting. But I believe you’re the only one reporting this issue in this forum - and it’s a loud one that I imagine more would be reporting if it was widespread. It will be interesting to learn if this is a one-off or a larger issue. Please let us know the resolution - I hope it comes very soon!

Im thinking the same things. Believe me, if anyone else was experiencing it, they would be posting about it. Ill add it to my service ticket also and will post back if I get any feedback form them

I have had the update since Sunday and every time I drive everything performs as I could have hoped... Car always locks when I walk away, opens as I approach, love the fold flat second row from the EZ entry button. As for the new under car camera view wow! I just wish I could set that as my default view (If any one knows how please let me know). Start up is now so fast I am missing the "Bear!" Quality of phone calls is much better. Great job Lucid it was worth the wait and thanks for listening to us all...

P.s. could you add some additional features for the HUD :)

If you want to consider the Owner's Manual as official word from Lucid, the manual says "Ensure that your vehicle is connected to Wi-Fi® and has a strong signal in order to receive updates quickly and uninterrupted".

And yet, for me and others, having Wi-Fi on causes the mobile app to not connect to the car or do so really slow. All my updates have occurred with Wi-Fi off.

What ever setting you've had your car set at this far, maybe try the other for a day or so.

It seems like I've had a couple of things where toggling it off and back on, or on and then back off, fixed the problem. It's like the setting shown on the display doesn't reflect what that setting is actually set to after an update or reboot. Toggling it back and forth forces the setting into one or the other.

Kind of wild that they came out super loud with this BIG update and then are slow rolling it like they are. I reached out to Lucid and they can confirm my car is in the queue, but they can’t say where in the queue it is or roughly when my car might get the update. I’ve only had the car for a few weeks and I would chalk up the experience so far as “it’s mostly great but I can’t say it’s at the level I expected for a $100k car.”

Well not to jinx it, but in 5 drives yesterday and today, no error messages and no internet drops! The first 2 days after getting 3.4.1 I was getting lots of them. Makes no sense, like something didn't fully work itself out for 2 days.

Or it's just coincidence. Time will tell.
