Lucid Gravity 3.4.0 software update

FOB battery life issue seems to be resolved!!

According to my latest micro-current measurements battery life has gone from 7 days worst case to greater than 1 year!

How can this be? software
1. Keeping fob stationary for >70 seconds, even within auto-open range now drops current to ~5uA. Previously you had to stay away ~50ft or equivalent or you got ~5mA (1000 times more). Didn't capture all the exact details of the previous version because I updated the fob before I had worked it out so maybe it wasn't this bad.
2. Inside the car as soon as you switch to drive the current drops to ~10uA, no matter if you move the fob or not. Previously any fob movement would turn on power to ~5mA level. That explains why they had fob battery problems on EV race.

So the bottom line is:

Throw away your faraday bag!

Store the fob anywhere outside the car where it won't be physically disturbed.

If your going to sit in a parked car put the car in drive and then back in park to sleep the fob.

One last important point. Replace the fob battery now. The fob-battery system may still try to communicate when the battery is to low to due so correctly. This may cause some of the weird startup behavior.(my guess) But now that the battery consumption is resolved there is no reason to try to extend a dead batteries life. Put in a fresh one and be good for a year.

Hope I don't have to eat my words !

Others have reported the creep issues as well, but I’m not convinced that part is not a feature, like the car defaulting back to smooth on every drive.
If anyone at Lucid actually thought that, they need to get out and talk to people. Every EV driver I interact with and see posts on forums is either in the 1PD camp (HOLD) or the 2PD camp (CREEP). There's almost never any tweeners that like to switch back and forth. Whether choosing 1PD or 2PD, they want it left that way all the time.

My fob sits in my pants pocket. Been doing that for 50 years and it ain't gonna change now.

A 20-pack of CR2450 batteries is 10 bucks on Amazon. If I have to change it every 6 months for my $108,000 car, so be it.

Do people actually want creep mode? One pedal driving’s so nice, what is the advantage of not using Hold and choosing Creep?

It's CR2450 and as long as you don't have restless leg syndrome or something you should be ok.

Many do, yes. I'd say a good 1/3rd of the ones I've seen talk about it prefer 2PD (CREEP).

For me, where I dislike 1PD is parking. I find creep (and using the brake pedal for inching forward as needed) easier and more precise than 1PD. Granted, my first EV experience was in my Mach-E, which had too-strong bottom-end power. If you needed to inch forward from a stop, once you pressed on the accelerator pedal (in 1PD) to release the brake hold, you were lurching a foot before you even knew it. I was always afraid I was gonna hit the wall when I really only wanted to move a few inches. With the brake pedal, I could control that much better.

But here's the other part I never liked about 1PD, especially as a 50-year driver. My brain and body are trained to press down (brake pedal) in a split-second if I need an immediate stop. In 1PD, the split-second reaction needs to be lift up. I was always afraid muscle memory would take over and I'd press down instead of let up in a split-second accident scenario. Like one of those cars that crashes through the storefront window because they got confused in a split-second and did the wrong thing.

I do love regen for gradually modulating speed while moving though. CREEP with regen ON is the perfect combo for me.

I updated my Gravity to 3.4.1 yesterday, and have been really enjoying all the improvements, like the left d-pad responsiveness (even with my replaced steering wheel, the issue where I had to press numerous times for it to register came back before this update), the cameras are now much better quality (though night time is still too dark), the accent lighting doesn't seem to forget the color anymore, the random warnings have gone away, the nav marker stopped dancing around when I park in my cul-de-sac, and the fob responsiveness seems much better.

One letdown with this release is the Bluetooth call quality which, according to my wife who talked to me when I was driving, hasn't improved one bit. Now that I was able to talk to her while she was driving, I can confirm that the BT audio still sounds very bad, and her voice seems to be even lower in volume than before. When she switched to the speaker, it was night and day in terms of volume, clarity, and background noise.

The car constantly doesn't automatically lock when I leave with the fob. I hope they address this in the next update.

But here is another set of issues. My wife just got in the car with her own fob, mapped to her own profile, and just like before, the profile did not automatically switch to hers, which I hoped would be fixed by now. What's worse is she's now signed out of Spotify and the audio app is just not loading at all, or maybe it's crashing immediately. Video demonstration: .

Oops, typo. Yeah I'll be surprised if the battery doesn't last longer than that, but even if I need to replace them frequently, that's an easy/cheap things to do. I already threw a sleeve of them in the glovebox.

Mine updated overnight. Just went out and did a short drive around the neighborhood. Immediately get a Dream Drive Limited error message when getting in the car, and a High Beam Assist Unavailable message (repeatedly). Also, the little white headlight icon is flashing on an off. I don't remember it ever doing that before. In Settings, the High Beam Assist shows "Feature Unavailable". I did the steering wheel reboot sequence, and it didn't fix the high beam error. It did turn on Energy Saver (like someone mentioned above). Went through the settings 3 times before I finally figured out how to turn that off (it's in the charging menu).

Then I parked in my garage and tried it 10 minutes later. Still got the Dream Drive Limited message, but the High Beam Assist error went away.

It didn't fix CREEP, or nav view, or SXM Favorites failing to return to where it was left on the last drive. Still have to start over every time on those.
Hmm...with so many others saying this update fixed those, I wonder if you shouldn't try doing a new User Profile... Have you tried that yet?

$10 for a pack of 20? No wonder they don't last longer than 4 weeks 😂

Not yet. I may give that a try if it persists. Actually if I go that far, I should probably just start completely over and do a factory reset.

  • Structural shift (who owns software) happened November 5, 2025, when Dlala’s role was expanded to include software and digital systems.
  • The major “software leadership team replaced” moment was communicated at CES in early January 2026, when Winterhoff publicly said he had swapped out essentially the entire software leadership team.
Lucid's Director of Software QA left the company around May 2025, iirc.

The precision parking makes sense. I noticed that the Gravity is definitely not as smooth as Tesla for making small movements. In a Tesla you can inch forward/backwards easily, the Gravity is more of a jump.

Software QA Director? Nah, we're good...

Hey, let's get rid of the guy responsible for service centers too! We shouldn't need that guy either!

Well now....

Think I found my first 3.4.1 Bug

Now when I pull into my garage, the front parking camera no longer comes on. Instead, Homelink display stays on, even after parking. If I am not home and go to park, the front camera does come on.

It seems Honelink display stays on and overrides the front parking camera.
Bug number 2
While trying to do a hard reset to clear above stated bug number 1, the screen came up asking what device I wanted to add. I stopped, and started over. Again the screen to add a device came up and I ignored it and the car did the reset.

But, the reset did not clear above bug #1.

None of these are terrible, just annoying.

Apparently that’s a function now. If you hold the mic button for a few seconds, the add device prompt appears. Since you have to hold it to reset, that prompt also appears there too. Just ignore and keep holding until reset goes thru

Is Key FOB version 02.35.08 the current version? Thanks!
