Lucid Gravity 3.4.0 software update

It looks like there are a fair number of Gravity owners waiting for the upgrade. It would be interesting to know how Lucid role the upgrade out, geographically, delivery date order, loyalty, bribe... and how many are included in each batch. We use to have two Tesla's and the upgrade schedule was different for each vehicle but always within 1 - 2 days...

When you were updating the software did the app seem to freeze at any percentages? I’ve been at 3% completed for about 25 minutes. OK so after 45 minutes it said 4% then 5% rather quickly and after 3 more minutes it’s at 12% and running free. Awesome.

Mine as stuck at 3% for a long time too. "normal" - it would seem.

From history with the Air, it’s next to impossible to figure out Lucid’s roll out strategy. Some owners who got updates the first few days with one update didn’t get it until a week or so after in the next.

All we know is Lucid rolls them out in batches and Thursday / Friday seems to be the day of choice to start a rollout. Beyond that, it’s purely guesswork.

For the 70 Gravity’s registered on Lucid Tracker it’s gone out to 12% of the fleet. I’d expect to see it ramp up more this week.

I don't think it's close to that. Lucid was targeting 18k total sales in 2025, which includes Air and Gravity. Thru Oct, Gravity was still in the hundreds. It ramped up the last 3 months but I would guess that we're probably in the "few thousand" range for Gravity deliveries by now.

I think probably closer to 9-10k now. They ramped to 1k cars per week production in mid November and it seems like most of that production is Gravity - let’s say 70%? So 700 Gravities weekly for last 8-10 weeks is 5600 to 7000 of them. Plus all the ones from November and before.

Thanks for your input. When 3.3.20 was rolled out in December my Gravity was in for service and I was not able to track the time from the initial release to the date my vehicle got the upgrade.

Got my 3.41 update notice around 7 pm last night. Slow start about 40 minutes tom 3% then ramped up to 47% at 10 pm (sloooow) and the next time I looked it said 42 % and got to 44% before it said update failed. Now Key fob and both key cards cannot open the car. I can use phone app to open and have tried restarting computer but no go. Charges OK, music works. Everything but starting the car (no key present message no matter what I try) It seems like it took part of the update but now as above.

I was in denial the last few months when reviewers said the Gravity was not a ‘finished’ car. I was making excuses in my head as to why it was fine and not a big issue to deal with the quirks. But clearly now this feels like a finished car. Something I would recommend to any friend or family member to purchase and know that they will have an amazing experience. It took a year, but imagine if the reviews for this car had this software maturity.

It also makes me wonder about the ‘old’ software team. Was it really that they didn’t know what to do? Or did it just take this long to get to the right answers? How much do we credit Emad for success on the software side versus just time? Either way, super happy to have this update.

In this day and age of software defined vehicles the bugs will never be gone and people need to prepare themselves for that. It’s more a case of how severe are they and how quickly can they be fixed.

This update, along with the last does appear to be at least a turning point for the Gravity software and agree, time to focus on getting those promised and advertised features out. This didn’t make it into 3.4.1 either so still more improvements to come

Bugs will always be there. Just not severe or terribly noticeable. And certainly much less frequent. Expecting anything else would be naive I agree.

But are they still -cams? that's what I'm waiting to find out.

As others have mentioned, the blind spot camera is one of the most noticeable improvements. Very little delay, smooth frame rate, and high resolution.

We’ll have to wait for the next update for night vision improvements, though. Cameras images are still pretty dark at night.

The left touch pad is another very noticeable improvement. Cruise control and DDP controls have gone from flaky to reliable. I haven’t driven enough to get a sense of failure rate, but I don’t recall having to do repeated button presses for my inputs to register in my two drives since the update.

Another fix is phone app to car connectivity. It now connects even with WiFi turned on. Previously, it would only connect at home when WiFi was enabled and could not connect away from home using the built-in cellular. This forced me to keep WiFi off (I turned it on to get the 3.4.1 update). I can keep WiFi enabled now.

Live view still has connectivity problems, though. I’ve never gotten it to work and still can’t.

Although it may be a bit premature to judge 3.4.1, it feels like this is the software that should have been released with the Gravity. The early reviews may have painted a very different picture of the Gravity and enabled it to win SUV of the year.
