Last year when I tried to lease a Lucid year my application was declined. I did not have any debt and I had not applied for financing so this was a surprise. Fortunately we were able to lease the car based on my wife’s application.

I was told that they needed at least 3 credit lines. I have had the same 3 credit cards for more than 20 years so I did not understand why my application was declined.

I finally got around to looking into this. I found that Lucid checked Experian for my credit history. Experian was missing a credit card I have been using for over 20 years. I am working with experian now to fix my credit card information.

My current lease was 36 months and I hope to lease another Lucid when my lease expires

A pox on all the credit reporting agencies. I know they're a necessary evil for an economy that relies so heavily on credit, but I've had a number of bad interactions with them.

It seems like the issue was due to Experian missing one of your long-standing credit cards. This can happen sometimes, and it’s good you're working with them to fix it. For others, it’s a reminder to check all credit bureaus for accuracy before applying for financing, as missing or incorrect information can impact approvals. Once the credit is corrected, you should have no issues with leasing in the future.
