My Lucid EVSE generally seems to take a few minutes to properly handshake with my Air and initialize, works fine once it gets going, but it's always seemed oddly long. Is this typical of these EVSEs?

It's now a problem after getting a Q6 as a second vehicle, it doesn't seem to like the long handshake and just errors out...

Curious if this is normal or if I've just been ignoring some issue with the EVSE

Normal for me; it can take a while. My wallbox isn't instant either, though it is shorter.

Hmm - I haven't noticed delays of more than a few seconds with my LCHCS or three other EVSE's I've owned, with our Air and four other EVs.

It does take a few minutes to initiate the charge but it works fine with both my Dream at 18Kwh and the Genesis GV60 at 11 Kwh.

It can take a few minutes to an hour for my Lucid to start charging if not scheduled. It’s bizarre. It can also take hours to never to schedule the charging after plugging in.

My LCHCS usually takes a minute or so to connect to either of my Airs; my Smart Fortwo ED connects in about the same time. My previous EVSE (Leviton) always connected within 10 seconds.

It is faster on the v3 version of the LCHCS fwiw

How does one determine the version number?

Last two digits at the end of the part number. Mine used to be -02, is now -03

You guys have me second-guessing myself, so I checked: my V2 LCHCS starts charging our Volvo about three seconds after plugging in. My Air is getting its annual service, so I can't immediately verify the LCHCS with that.
