I have a Lucid Air Touring, took delivery in December, 2022, so it is still under warranty.
Recently, my charging cord stopped functioning, so I took it to Lucid Service Station in Riviera Beach.
The staff there told me it would not be covered under the warranty because I had not properly cared for the cord. This cord was plugged in, in my garage, for the entire time I owned the vehicle, because I drove only locally.
Service personnel told me that that the cord connection to the plug unit was loose, and consequently the unit failed. I have called the local service center twice to speak to the manager, Gustavo, but he has not called me back.
I see that Lucid has since redesigned the electronics of the cord to prevent this from occurring.
To me, it seems entirely unfair that Lucid would place the blame for this defect on me and deny warranty coverage, leaving me with a $700 bill. Until now, I have been recommending Lucid to many friends and acquaintances, but this leaves a bad taste.
Have others had the same experience with Lucid warranties for the charging cord?
