Lucid assistant is lagging further and further behind

ChatGPT said I was right!

I mean sure ChatGPT disagreed with me at first but after enough prompting the AI agreed with me and called me brilliant!
Funny enough if you ask AI it actually gives you the correct answers.

if you ask something about let's say FSD, it is often wrong because it pulls anecdotal comments from social media.

But if you ask about the underlying technology it knows a lot

This is 100% false. The only sensor tesla had was cruise control radar. Cruise control radar is the same radar found in almost every car in the U.S.

Those are the same cars that will willingly hit stationary objects at 80mph because cruise control radar doesn't work for self driving

When tesla actually had accidents with autopilot where they'd hit stationary vehicles it was because they were using radar for depth detection
Like I said, hogwash! One sensor suite better than 3 for safety? Hogwash!

It's unclear to me how the Lucid Assistant made it out to production. It's awkward, largely unhelpful, non-intuitive.
Things to improve:
#1: Actual and complete control integration: "Open the glovebox" "open the frunk" etc. should just make that happen. The whole car is software driven - every control is "soft". There are buttons in layers of menus that aren't all that hard to find - but why make me find them when we supposedly have an "Assistant"
#2: Speech recognition/parsing needs to handle sentences that aren't perfect, etc. Just like very other competitive voice assistant. This includes asking questions to clarify - not make me ask twice.

Bottom line: I should be able to talk to it to get operate anything in the car.

Reading the tea leaves - an AI assistant being in the works might well be making any fix here a waste... Concern: does the car have the computes to do this without some datacenter powering it? If not, what happens when you've got no cell service...

In this case, yes because cruise control radar doesn't do anything useful and ultrasonics are only for short range.

And this ignores the fact that cameras are the highest resolution sensor available

Waymo has problems seeing thin chains (same as tesla) because with lidar they are not very visible

If you are compute limited less is always more.

I think it's typical for connected cars to fall back on a limited local model for voice response and control when a network link is absent.
