Lucid assistant is lagging further and further behind

I've never used Lucid's voice assistant, and likely won't ever. Didn't even know that it was there until I watched a video about it on YouTube! (never tried Lucid's self-parking feature either).

I prefer to enjoy actually driving my Gravity, blasting my favorite tunes through SSPro, while daydreaming and introspecting about life, family, work, next vacation, retirement, and whatever else.
I also enjoy driving, and am not that eager for an AI to take over.

In the last year, I have started having voice conversations with various AIs while on long solo road-trips. I'm an engineer, and am always learning something new. Exploring a new subject with an AI while I drive lays the ground work for more in-depth research while I'm at my desk. Unfortunately, the current generation of AI chat bots all still constantly hallucinate, especially when talking to them about things better learned from text books than reddit. When I'm back at my desk, I fact check what the AI told me on the drive, and constantly discover things it was wrong about. Until the hallucination problem is thoroughly resolved, I'm not eager to put an AI in charge of anything important.

Load scholarly papers/academic resources into Notebook LM and have it create a podcast for you. Not dialogue but I’ve used this for many solo road trips to learn something new like you.

Can’t hallucinate if it only knows what you feed it 😃

“If you haven’t tried it, you should” remains my response.

In blind conversations, people still prefer Gemini https://www.reddit.com/r/GeminiAI/s/63w5bost5Z
You’re talking to a brick wall. Every post relates back to how Elon/Tesla is better and no matter how you respond you’re fed with more pro Elon / Tesla crap.

No idea why they’re in a Lucid forum apart from just being a troll at this point.

The silver lining is that those with actual expertise and experience will be in demand because someone's gonna have to clean up the mess AI leaves behind.

And smack some sense back into those who drank the AI kool aid

Now that's job security 😁

With the era of vibe coding I feel like their software dev team should be banging out small but meaningful improvements more regularly

Like banks trying to find an old guy that knows COBOL 😭

If you don't know what to look for the time "saved" with vibe coding goes towards fixing the problems caused by vibe coding. And if you're working on very niche and specific cases you're better off writing it the old fashioned way

I know FORTRAN, COBOL, ALGOL, a little ESPOL(Burroughs system language) and MUMPS... Yes, I am an "old fart".
:)

Does lucid assistant on gravity speak back with responses?
My car doesn't speak back, however, just had a loaner while the car in service, the loaner had a speaking assistant. (No internet, hence no action, but it speaks!).

I got my car back and tried most of available options and nothing worked.
Any suggestions?
Yes, definitely. Have you tried an infotainment reboot?

I trust the devs know what to look for and how to instruct the agent, it'll just speed them up. Our own members here can vibe code fully functional Lucid ios watch apps with half baked python apis within minutes or hours. Surely would be also helpful to a resource-stretched dev team.

I took a semester of COBOL I think it was. Walking across campus with a huge box of punched cards, I tripped and dropped the box. Took all night to sort them. Joined the Air Force shortly afterwards.

All these forums are big circlejerk parties where everyone upvotes positive comments.

If you read through the tesla forums it is enlightening because it's full of people who actually care about the products and whether they are good or not.

You see plenty of detractors on there and it is welcome because it provides a different view. Then you find people who actually care about the tech in the cars, battery degradation, best charging practices, etc.

It's also important to not be ignorant about what others have because it shows what is possible.

Good example of this is how on every forum people talk about more sensors, more compute, etc. leads to better driving and surpassing tesla in record time when there is zero evidence of this. There's a reason mercedes drive pilot has not release their P2P system in the U.S. this year. There's a reason that the chinese systems have a safety level of FSD 12. There's a reason that tesla increased memory bandwidth of AI5 to have 4-5x what is found in nvidia thor.

There was a guy on that tesla forum who used to talk about how FSD had no moat and that all these systems from nvidia, wayve, chinese, etc. were on the same level. It became increasingly clear they are nowhere close and "mr. always right" basically left the forum.

What also became clear over the past year is that tesla's penny pinching and using the least possible cameras to cover the largest FOV possible has a side benefit in that it allows them to use very low memory bandwidth and have very fast reaction times.

Yeah but do you know APL or forth?
