Lucid assistant is lagging further and further behind

I have asked the Lucid Assistant for directions to number of different businesses a number of times and if there are multiple locations of a business, it will ask “Which location do you want to visit” without providing a list of the available locations. Extremely frustrating!

I use it for navigation, but that's about it. When it does present a list of options, it's almost always the first one in the list. I can verify that if you say "the first one," or "the second one," when asked, it works. It sounds like there is a newer version brewing, though, which is great. @borski does it require the upgraded chip for the air? It's related to infotainment, so I figure it might.

It says "which location do you mean?" and it puts a list up on the cockpit panel... however... depending on what you are doing the parking mode screens or list of Homelink garage doors may be displayed over top of the list of locations you're supposed to pick from. That's a bug I haven't sent in yet, because I'm a bad Lucid owner.

I wonder how grok compares to Gemini, which has been extremely useful to us. We control both our Volvo and our smart home with it. Off-topic and for another car forum I guess.🙂
The Volvo Gemini integration is amazing. Basically the best I’ve ever seen in a vehicle.

I am here to say I don't care and didn't buy the car cos of Hey Lucid as Hey Google works fine for me, I find those Chinese car using voice command to open window etc quite useless other than show off.

Rivian and Tesla are so far behind in comfort and handling and embedded software.

Same here! Gemini also works well in our smart home, though you do have to be careful to enunciate clearly as it has a much greater choice of actions it can undertake than the old Assistant.
I do appreciate having the exact same voice AI in the car as we have at home.

You talk to your house?

I use automations for almost everything, sometimes the phone

HomeKit and home assistant

We do too, I have 46 automations running.
But sometimes we want to open the garage door by voice, or unlock the Lucid so that I can pull out the charging cable and plug it into my wife's car. Or ask if the mail has arrived, or say "good morning" to turn on some lights, or "good night" to set things up for bed.

I think a good "Hey Lucid" integrated assistant could be really handy when you are solo driving and need to change something on the touchscreens, pilot panel in particular. If you could have it read things from the panel and control virtually anything with voice commands it would be a nice feature.

I use it in my bmw to open blinds, control ambient lighting, change drive modes, add navigation destinations, all sorts of stuff!

Thanks for this! I was wondering why I couldn’t see the list. I figured it was some kind of software bug and it appears that it is.

Actually, a miracle happened to me today with Lucid assistant. I tried to ask Lucid assistant to turn driver's massage seat on, and it worked!!! It also could turn it off, and then turn it back on again, which is a huge improvement, it could never do it before. I love Lucid massage, and now I don't have to go through multiple menus trying to turn it on. Well done, Lucid! I don't really care if Lucid Assistant can sustain conversation on impressionists or political situation in Brazil... But this really improves quality of life:)

It is literally night and day. The speed it responds is like real-time

Zero delay. I wonder what technology they use. I believe they process the answers before you finish what you are saying

If you think about it, maybe someone says about 1/3 or 1/2 of a sentence before you can realize what they are asking

Then all you have to do is correct yourself if their sentence ends up changing meaning

Grok also controls grok bot as well
Gemini Live is incredibly fast. If you haven’t tried it, you should.

🤷‍♂️

Response time of grok think fast 3.0 is around 0.8 seconds. It's half the time of the next fastest model.

processing requests on the car (like changing cabin temp) is around 1.3 seconds and the fastest result from rivian (100% local requests like changing cabin temp) takes around 3s

The speed at which grok works is ridiculous

“If you haven’t tried it, you should” remains my response.

In blind conversations, people still prefer Gemini https://www.reddit.com/r/GeminiAI/s/63w5bost5Z
