It is amazing, that as of this late date, so many things still have apparently not been nailed down. To be honest though, the fully power operated doors don't do much for me. However having the soft closure is a nice touch in that I've often not fully closed a door on a variety of cars I've owned. So that does have some value for me. OTOH, if I've reached the age or have a physical infirmity where I can no longer close the doors by myself, I probably shouldn't be driving any longer.

True, sad to say. However, I have to say that in the showrooms I tried reaching out to close the doors manually, and the roof rails were intrusive enough that I had to make a real effort to duck my head. And those doors weren't even opening the full 90 degrees. I think it's the roof rails that really make self-closing doors helpful in this car. I would be willing to dispense with the self-opening feature if that would make it easier to get the self-closing mechanism into production.
