My wife for the first time in over two years was locked out of the Lucid until she ran a software update. Apparently she had been in and out of the car several times telling the car later on the update. When she came back in a parking lot the fob would not work and the app said the lock was disabled until she ran the software update. She ran the update from the app which was luckily only 10 minutes and was then let back in the car.
Has anyone else experienced this? The tech rep said she had not heard of this but that the key card would have worked to unlock the car.

Just wanted to know of others experiences. Thanks.

Never heard of this happening. Did she screen shot the device information, or document the time the bug happened? That would probably be helpful to anyone at support looking to diagnose or bug hunt.

The car does indeed lock you out when the update is running though. But it sounds like you said she didn’t start the update.

She had not started the update and did not screen shot the lock disabled notice. Wondering if there is a limit on the amount of times you can tell the system later on the update?

If there is a limit, it's a very high number. I've delayed them for a week at times, hitting Remind Me Later every time I get in the car. That sounds really strange. 've never seen the car require the update to open or run.

She may have hit “schedule update” by accident? First I’ve heard of this

Put me down as "there's no way." Some of the updates take over an hour to run...there's 0% chance they will arbitrarily lock you out of the car to force you to accept an upgrade. Knowingly denying you entry to your own vehicle could be a potential safety issue, on top of being a massive inconvenience (thunderstorm, blazing heat, shopping cart full of groceries, someone chasing you to buy an extended car warranty, take your pick). Something else has to be afoot.

That's pretty crazy that the FOB wouldn't work. I would expect shenanigry with the app but not the FOB.

I stopped doing updates altogether on my GMC pickup because they were so buggy, it never affected vehicle function.
