2023 Air Pure
I've been told a loaner would be available and I was second in line for a loaner while waiting for my 2023 Lucid Air Pure heater to be fixed. It's been over a week and car is not fixed and no loaner. Is this to be expected from Lucid?

No, I've had my Air GT for 18 months and have NEVER had a problem with getting a loaner.

Loaner availability is based on many factors including how close you live to the service center. I've only had a loaner once. Every other time my car needed service under warranty, Lucid covered the cost of my rental. After warranty, you're on your own

Lucid is selling a luxury vehicle at luxury prices. Luxury dealers provide loaners. I was a BMW owner for many years and never had a problem getting a loaner. If I needed service, I simply called and they would say come on in and we will have a loaner for you.

During the pandemic, when it was difficult for dealers to get loaners, my BMW dealer arranged for Hertz to have vehicles there but the customer experience was the same as always...go to the loaner desk, sign a paper, and drive away. It was seemless. My Hertz loaner that time was a Cadillac. When my car was ready, I drove the Hertz loaner back to the dealership, dropped off the paperwork, got my new paperwork back, and drove away in my BMW. I never had to deal directly with Hertz.

My '25 AGT, bought in June, went in for a Driver's seat adjustment and was sent to Enterprise Rental, for a day. Not happy. This was set up a week in advance. The seat issue didn't get resolved. Lucid service had to order as new Driver's seat. On back order, for 3 months(was there a run on gray '25 AGT Driver's seats?). They got the seat into a drivable position & said "Don't Touch adjustments". Took them a week to fix. I told them 3 months in advance "I WANT A LOANER, NO MORE GOING TO ENTERPRISE", After the rep said I was going to Enterprise again. A week before the appt., they called to push the appt. back another week.I don't know, but are the loaners given to the employees to use? How do they appear when push comes to shove?

Actually, I just had my out-of-warranty 2022 Air GT in for a routine annual service, and they gave me a loaner 2025 Air GT, which was very nice.

I think it varies by situation and what they have available. There are various reasons why one might not be available.

In my case they had a guy drive the loaner 350 miles to my door, then flew him home.

The loaner broke down the next day (frunk jammed of course) and they shipped it back and arranged for Enterprise. I opted to just drive one of my other cars instead.

That's good. I'm assuming you are near a service center? It's not a secret that owners near service centers generally have a much different and better service experience than the those of us who do not.

I am about 4 hours from a service center. When my car was in for a warrantied issue, I mentioned that I need a car and they gave me a rental credit. I would recommend asking directly for it

Just be glad Lucid gives at least rentals. With Tesla all you get is Uber credits.

I’ve been given a loaner at Tesla every time I’ve had an appointment.

Correct. I live about 8 miles from the Scottsdale, AZ, service and delivery center. As a side note, when I was having my Air serviced in early January, their lot was packed with new Gravity waiting prep for delivery.

I had a Tesla. There were times I took my car into service. They ran out of loaners and offered by Uber voucher instead.
i also have a Tesla and also live near a large Tesla delivery center and have never been offered a loaner. Only Uber.

Sadly they didn't have a loaner for me, though I'm 4+hrs from the nearest service center.

They are reimbursing me for a rental though. I've had a Mach-E due the last 3 weeks. I finally got my car back today so I'm looking forward to dropping off the rental. It's not terrible but it's no Lucid.

Given that Tesla is going mainstream only (3 and Y), I can understand that. it is like Chevy or Ford sending you to Enterprise for a rental while your vehicle is in for service. The S & X, on the other hand, were selling as luxury cars and IMO luxury car sellers must provide loaners.
But there are many other reasons not to buy a Tesla such as every control being on the info screen, etc.

I would imagine it could depend on the service center. I just picked up my 2026 AT from the Service Center in North Houston TX. They had it for a few days. They had Enterprise deliver a 2026 AP to the Service Center for me. I completed the paperwork online. They told me that this particular Enterprise specializes in high-end luxury rentals.

When I picked up my car from service, I just handed the fob for the rental to the service manager and off we went. By the time I got home, the invoice was in my email box and the charge to me was $0.00, paid for by Lucid. Basically seamless to me.

Not too different than when my 2025 RAM 1500 Tungsten was in the shop. Dealer had their shuttle driver take me to Enterprise and I got a car from them. Dropped it back there when my truck was ready and the dealer sent their shuttle to pick me up.

From Gemini.

Yes, you can request a loaner vehicle through the
Tesla app when scheduling service for your car. Loaner vehicles are typically provided for warranty repairs or service visits estimated to take over four hours, subject to availability. If a loaner is not available, Tesla may offer Uber credits.
Key Details on Tesla Loaners:
  • Requesting: During the app booking process, you can ask for a loaner. If unavailable, service centers may offer $100 in daily Uber vouchers for repairs lasting 3–24 hours.
  • Eligibility: Loaners are generally prioritized for warranty work that requires leaving the car for an extended period, often over 24 hours.
  • Availability: They are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and availability is not guaranteed.
  • Requirements: You will need to bring your driver's license and proof of insurance when picking up a loaner.
  • Limitations: Loaners may be speed-restricted to 85 mph and should not be driven more than 200 miles per day.
  • Alternatives: If your car is in for body work, some centers offer a $45/day rental program.
