When my wife and I were out for a drive Sunday, the user profile changed from her to me in the middle of the drive. The seats and mirrors did not change but the music preferences did change. This happened while the car was in drive and without input from us. I thought that user profiles could only change while the car was in park. I also find that the seat adjustments frequently do not load with the profile but everything else does. Is anyone else encountering odd behavior with profiles changing or not loading?

The only odd behavior we have with it is very very slow profile switch times. Sometimes it can take 2-3 minutes to swap profiles when parked

Yes annoying and undesirable but not odd since it is very slow every time.

I bet your issue had something to do with facial recognition. For example, if your wife had her phone or key fob on her it may have detected that, and my guess is that you probably look a lot like your wife and somehow it decided that she was in the drivers seat... just kidding... but I think that the car does get confused sometimes when there are multiple fobs and phones and cards floating around within range.

Also, the profile button (avatar) is very close to the Homelink button and I've missed the one I was going for several times. Wondering when we will get an Entry/Exit profile? Also, automatic activation of homelink when in range? Just another reminder of how far Tesla's software has come and how far Lucid has to go... I have every confidence they will get there.

Lucid has said that they really are not trying to compete head-to-head with Tesla, more directly with Mercedes and BMW, that's because they want to be a luxury EV company. However, when it comes to software Tesla's feature set is really hard to beat and I think Lucid is very close to surpassing the old-guard makers.

funny you should say that. My daughter can open my wife’s phone with facial recognition, but not the other way around.

Except that My Model 3 just received the ability to enter GPS navigation waypoints a few months ago, fifteen years or more after other manufacturer's cars. It's also limited to a premium Spotify account (not free), and has no ability to play my podcast list from Google Podcasts or Pocketcasts.

My GT was delivered Friday. My husband and I are both Luddites. When we were being coached both of us were in the car and we both had our key fobs. The car became confused and the net result was that I had to reset my profile a day later and when neither my husband’s phone or key fob were within range.

Also, my iPhone 8 is too old to connect, as is our garage door opener.

That is what the garage visor remotes are for! Old School. And I guess it’s time to upgrade that phone.

There is a legacy mode when connecting your garage door. There was a button to tell it to use static codes and not Homelink.

Perhaps my delivery/set up advisor missed that lesson. Do you know where I might locate that information? It is about a 15 year old Genie Garage door opener.

Begin like you are programming a new homelink connection.
On the first screen after you enter the name for the connection, there is a button that says to press it to program with "D-Mode". I think that is what this is for, but I could always be wrong.

D-Mode is used if the device you’re pairing with doesn’t have a remote available but has a “Learn” or “Program” button.

Thanks, gentlemen. The homelink site tells you to first put new batteries in your transmitter. AHA! My battery tester said need to replace. Now I just have to wait for the thunderstorm to pass and go get a new battery.
