Yes, I had no issues.Has anyone returned to Rutherford, NJ?
For now, I'll just say Southeast. I want to see what happens today. My fiancé also emailed our salesman yesterday afternoon and he has not replied to me or her yet. Not happy about this either but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was off on a Monday. 3 Lucids in 18 months....we'll see if that means anythingI'm wondering whether turn-in nightmares are coming from certain geographic regions. It would be helpful to know where these reports are originating from.
Sonofabish and BillyT: where are you located?
Did you return to West Palm Beach?I finally received my final invoice. they dinged me for the minor wheel rash on two wheels @$200. per wheel.
they charged me sales taxes on the disposition fee and wheel charges, I find this is the part extremely annoying,
I have been leasing cars since the 1980's and I have never had assessments for minor dings and I have never had bogus sales taxes collected by the lessor.
my choice not to take another lucid has been validated by their pettiness.
yesDid you return to West Palm Beach?
We probably got the same jerk
Sad to see that the issue isn't,unfortunately, resolved as you might expect. I keep hoping Lucid take this seriously (maybe they're and things are just difficult to resolve) and heal this giant wound spreading. Maybe Lucid should think about absorbing some of these costs just to keep the customers base happy especially those who want to make new lease. These early adopters are mostly "free brand ambassador" and everyday, it seems like more is being lost.Well, not so fast on turning the corner. My fiance' leased her 2023 Air Pure 18 months ago and I leased a 2024 Touring for myself 3 months later. She had her pre-inspection on her Air Pure about 3 weeks ago and it had some wear and tear on there but the big thing was the front windshield. They found a "chip" and took a picture with a ruler. The ironic thing is I or my fiance' could not see where they were talking about. So we contacted Safelite Glass company to come out to repair or replace the windshield. It is covered by insurance so we were fine with either way. When the woman from Safelite came out last week, she could not find any cracks or dings in the windshield to speak of. The few things she saw were TINY and definitely deemed "normal wear and tear". She said these are so minor that she couldn't believe anything came up from any inspector. She called her Manager who said to repair anything minor. She also said the insurance company would not replace the windshield as there was nothing there to allow for replacement. The Manager asked was this inspection from Lucid or an independent company. When I told them an independent company he said, "there you go". I called our Lucid sales rep and talked to him about not having any problems with this turn in when we come in. He couldn't say much but didn't foresee a problem after I explained all this.
So this past Friday, we drove 4 hours to turn her car in AND we leased a new 2025 Air Touring. When we got there, we had the Lucid lease return guy look at our windshield. He agreed there is nothing on that windshield. Well, this morning, my fiancé' got her inspection report and they want $2850, $2500 for the windshield!! Are you f'ing kidding me? The picture they used in the "Condition Report" is from the pre-inspection, not even the final inspection. Also included was $150 for a tire pressure warning light that won't turn off. That's not on us and its under warranty regardless! This all is very troubling and like a scam. I just now messaged my Lucid sales rep and let him have it. I don't care ONE BIT about Bank of America or independent inspection company this or that. This is total B.S. and its on Lucid. I told my sales rep I would have NEVER leased this new Touring if this is the garbage that gets pulled on Lucid customers. We were strongly considering a Gravity Touring next year but why in the world would we do that?
We'll see what happens from here....
I can't help but wonder if they even will replace the glass.... or just pocket the money and sell it at auctionAgree with DrK that they need someone on the behalf of the Lucid lessee. I saw an article about a month ago about the vitriol from Lucid lessees and their turn-in experience. From what I read, Lucid was acknowledging what is happening. It gave me hope that we won't have a problem. But this is way worse than I expected. I am 59 years old and have leased probably 10-12 cars in my life. I have never had this problem once.
I see what merveille is saying, but in regards to the windshield, there is no costs to absorb for Lucid. No one buying this car would have any issue with the windshield as we turned it in. It was as clean as can be. The fact he used the original picture implies to me is he saw the original glass in the car, didn't even look at it and charged the $2500.
Our salesman is contacting my fiancé at lunch so we'll see if I have something positive to report.
Glad to see Lucid management is as pissed as customers are. Let's hope a definitive solution is found.Update....my fiancé talked to our Lucid sales rep at lunch. He reviewed the final inspection report and agreed it was ridiculous to get these charges. He took the report to his Manager and higher-ups to get this resolved. Our salesman said we had to contact Customer Care from the email received with the report and file a claim. But that is incorrect because when my fiancé did call, they said we had to wait for the final bill, then file the claim. What?? So while I am somewhat relieved that "Management" may be taking this seriously, we will see what is going to be done.
We live in Tampa Bay, so we are 220 miles away from the nearest Lucid dealership. You rarely see a Lucid in our area. My fiancé and I meet for dinner after work in our 2 Lucids and give them all this free advertising, LOL. Bottom line is Lucid needs to make a company policy change on how they handle their lease turn-ins. This is a Mickey Mouse, 4th grade business practice and we're dealing with high end vehicles and customers.
Actually we have several people on this forum who now refuse to drive a Lucid and have purchased elsewhere. This whole issue has been picked up on social media so it definitely a problem for Lucid.Well, many of you voted with your wallet and leased another Lucid, so they probably aren’t getting the message that you want them to get. Companies don’t change anything until it costs them money.
That’s certainly not the only solution. There are plenty more possibilities, including contractual ones between Lucid and BoA.A few, but several also leased a new one before seeing the final resolution of their current lease. Only solution is to take the 3rd party double inspection nonsense out of the equation and have them turned in directly to Lucid, who can then deal with BofA.
was it more than 3.5"? that's what the Lucid guidelines say.I finally received my final invoice. they dinged me for the minor wheel rash on two wheels @$200. per wheel.
