Anybody ever compare 0-60 times between the stock all-weather tires and summer performance tires? I'm wondering to what degree the car is limiting power to my all-weather tires. Not that I launch all the often... ;)

In the owner's manual:

find "Drive Modes" (p 70 )

Sprint

Yes, seriously. I do this twice per year.

Also, here in the NE USA temps can swing more than 30 degrees F in one day. I checked pressures this AM (do not trust TPMS) and found them all 4 psi low. I run my 21" summer tires at 44psi because the roads in PA are as hazardous as a Ukrainian sunflower field.

inspect your tires regularly
read your owner's manual
stay away from me

And whilst we are on the topic of summer performance tires:
when it gets below about 40 degrees F
Summer rubber compound has about the same coefficient of friction as a hockey puck when it's cold. Sudden unexpected under-steer will happen.
Fortunately the nanny in this car is freakin' awesome . It's both a good thing and a bad thing.

This car is expensive to repair, and even a slight prang will take months: for example: in PA the white-tailed deer outnumber the people. At night they wait for a car then dash out into the road. This was a dog-sized yearling. I was going about 38 mph. Never saw it. (photo next morning after a wash)

About $30,000 and 7 months to repair.

Oh so we're just skipping the part of advanced and skilled drivers and suitable environments, and only focusing on the rubber for sprint mode.

I’ve launched in Sprint mode any number of times on 19’s with the stock all weather rubber. No issue at all. Would I go all out in the twisties on this rubber? No way, but for launching from the line there’s no issue that I’ve experienced…

Same here. 19’s are nice on twisties because it’s easier to have the car break loose and get some dynamic driving going, lol.

Three years in and never tried launch mode, only about 5 minutes total in Swift mode. Do not need to visit Sprint. I bought the car for 500 mile range, not being a teenager.
Smooth is way enough for my driving skill. My first EV. Still astounded at the instant torque.
I lost control of my car with the factory A/S tires making a turn from a dead stop. It was about 80 degrees F. I was in Smooth mode. If it had not been for the nanny I'd definitely have pranged the car into a curb. I wasn't even being silly, just trying to make a left out of the neighborhood onto the main road with small gaps in traffic. The wife was with me. We were both surprised and scared. I was completely sideways on a busy road. Lesson learned.

Upside was I convinced the wife that the car needed summer rubber. It worked.

Bought "used" from a local owner who believed the "tire bubble" issue with the Pirelli 21" summer rubber (common "issue" post here about 2-3 years ago) About 100 mi on them. Rims are pristine. The secret is 44-45 psi. Factory recommended pressure is too low for PA = 35 series sidewall needs more help. Anyone who rides road bicycles will tell you to keep pressures up to avoid punctures.

On 19's my Touring (which has the same 885 ft-lbs of torque) but is 250 lbs lighter will spin all 4 with TC off on launch in Sprint, it will spin some/gently smear in Dynamic mode, and may still try to break free in full TC. You are probably losing 0.3 seconds 0-60. Car and Driver tests got the Touring to 0-60 in 3 seconds flat with 20s on summer rubber, and 3.4 with the 19s. Lots of empty parking lots nearby....

Speaking from experience: on 21s with summer rubber, launching is the most satisfying experience. It is silent, without a squeal, planted, and feels like it could just go forever (in my DE, anyway).

On the 19s, it requires a bit more nerve; they squeal like nobody’s business, and they stay planted but it’s definitely slipperier. It’s doable, and no problem if you do, but it is *definitely* somewhat more unnerving than on the summers.
