Hi all, we all know there are fellow members and owners in the LA area and I hope you are all staying safe! We may only have a combined appreciation of a car company in common, but know that we all think of you and treat you as family.

If anyone is impacted by this, please let us know if we can help in any way!

For members outside of the LA area, would love to think of ways we can utilize our community to raise funds for the regions affected! Looking forward to collaborating!

I hope fellow owners are safe and sound...

I share in the concern for all who have been affected by the fires in SoCal. My family and I fly back home to OC from Florida today through LAX. Stay safe everyone.

If I can help anyone at all, please don’t hesitate. Text or call first, then think; don’t let the anxiety or fear or panic keep you from asking for help.

You know how to reach me, and you know I mean it. I’m not promising anything specific, but I’m great at (and enjoy) finding flights, housing, etc. I also have two ears and am willing to listen and/or talk; whatever you need.

DM, text, call - you have the info. If you don’t, and need it, DM me.

There is at least one Lucid owner I know who lost her home :(
One of my close friends lives in Calabasas Hills right there between the two fires. It's not looking super great.

A small note of appreciation to all, especially the folks at Lucid Engineering, the car performed like a champ in making an exit out of LA and to ferry supplies where needed. Specifically under the gusty wind conditions and flying debris the handling and responsiveness came in handy during this unpredictable and highly volatile time.

Heading the notice to prep for evacuation has saved the lives of two families I know in the Palisades.

Perhaps a controversial take to some, but while there has been very little loss of life relative to property and material damage (thank god), LA is an epicenter of the world's car culture and a treasured part of the quality of life we Californians (and our salt/hail/snow-free cars) enjoy, and proudly share with the rest of the world. Probably why we design such awesome EVs. Since this is a car forum and I may have a more sympathetic audience to this sorrow, maybe some of us felt an additional sting of seeing the images of dessicated frames of irreplaceable, generational family heirlooms resting on their bbq'd discs and drums. Not sure why I'm sharing this, other than sleep deprivation and delirium of the last 4 days, and to say possessions can mean much more symbolically and sentimentally to many than mere utility objects...especially to many who just lost theirs. RIP to my friend's R129 Silver Arrow Brabus 5.8 complete spec, and I hope Bruno himself greets you as you drive through the pearly gates.

Not controversial on a car enthusiast website. The Mercedes R 129 was the absolute pinnacle of Mercedes engineering and design. The Silver Arrow Edition was only built in 2002 (last year of model run). They made 1500 SL 500s with the V8 and only 100 SL 600s with the V12. Brabas was one of the lesser known tuners.

I had the R 129 SL 500 Silver Arrow...your post hit me right in the feels. A drunk teenager hit me and totaled my car. Could not find another one so I bought this 2001 R 129 SL600:

Most beautiful Mercedes ever built.

Charging up the car to 100! Getting too close for comfort now. I know there are other Lucid owners in the Sherman Oaks / Encino area that started getting evacuation warnings last night as it crossed the ridge. Be safe all!

I live in an evacuated zone for the Eaton fire. If my wife was not listening to the radio on her way home, I would have never known there was a fire.

I snapped this photo right before we left @ 7PM Wed night. Honestly, I was not too nervous about the fire until the next day. I even went back in the middle of the night to go back to get some extra items.

I don't know the owners, but I'm certain there are two Lucid Air owners 2 streets over from us.

Well by virtue of being Lucid owners, it's probably a safe assumption that we're in a more financially fortunate bracket than most, but nonetheless it would be great to do something for/as our little community. I mean, the friggin' car has like a dozen cali bears across it. Wonder if that's something corporate would get behind.

Also, happy to delete if there's a better place to share, but in my spare time I make audio art and donate the proceeds to charity (over $100k raised so far) and am focusing on the California Fire Foundation. If anyone wants a kookie stereo with 100% of your money (pay what you want) headed their way, let me know :)
