I am unable to get the key fob to update after 3.4.1 update. Immediately after tapping update the app responds with "Unable to download update."

Replaced the battery, restarted phone, tried different networks, app has all permissions.

Has anyone had this problem and gotten past it?

There are known issues with a batch of key fobs that other posters here are reporting as being replaced by Lucid; you may have one of those in the batch

Try walking far away, like 1/4 mile or so, then try again from there. That worked for me.

I have had issues with the fob, since I received the car. They replaced the fob, updated software, now they have my vehicle and they wanted to return it without doing anything to fix the issue. Service has been horrible.

Replacing the fob and updating the software is, by definition, the opposite of “not doing anything.”

How do you know it isn’t fixed?

I asked them what they did to fix the problem and they said they did nothing to fix it. The fob was replace a month ago and that did not fix it and the software was updated when the update came out and that did not fix it. They just picked up the car on Monday and they said they did nothing do anything to the vehicle. So let me tell what happen that has really made this issue so critical. The fob works sometimes. I got out of my vehicle, the fob decided to work and shut down the vehicle. My wallet and key car and cell phone was in the vehicle. I was walking to the passenger side of the vehicle to remove packages when this happen. Well the fob decided not to work and I could not open the vehicle. I had no key card and no cell phone and no money. Luckily, the spare key card was available because I was home, if I was in some parking lot, it would have been a problem, no money, no cell phone , no way to communicate with lucid or road side assistance . This issue needs to be addressed and fixed.

There is no reason that we should need to do anything like this. The fob should work correctly all the time.

You know that if the fob is in proximity you can press on the door handle to unlock the car and make them pop out right?

After getting my Gravity back from service, all seemed normalized - HOORAY! The FOB, which was a continual thorn in my side since I took delivery was working beautifully. The Recent service seems to have rectified ALL issues with the FOB - for about a week! It now has reverted to the state that it was in before the service (less than 2 weeks ago). I can no longer rely on the FOB for walk to/walk away lock/unlock nor do the actual lock/unlock buttons work with ANY consistenty. My key cards are now what I have to use for access. I pulled the battery to check voltage - it is at 2.94. Any other similar experiences?

A new coin cell will read about 3.25 to 3.30 volts. For $1, may be a good idea to change yours to see if the behavior improves.
Have you updated the fob's firmware through the phone app?

I thought the same re. new battery but, when my GGT came back from service the battery read 3.0v - and the fob was working beautifully. For s*&#s & giggles i changed it today to a new one w/ a voltage of 3.22 - SAME inconsistency! And yes, the FOB is updated to most recent iteration. I cannot rely on the FOB any longer so, the key card is my go-to access mode.

I tried updating while the car was miles away. Still did not work. Thinking there was a permission issue I reset my phone to stock Android, ran updates, installed the Lucid app and tried again. App still cannot find the fob.

Service tech was here for another issue and updated the fobs with his iPhone no problem.

Has anyone done this successfully with an Android phone?

I have had no issues updating the fob via android.

I always have to shake the fob to wake it up next to my phone. So far it has always taken two attempts but it has always worked. I hope it works for you

No problems, but I did have to walk about 100 feet away from the car.

I figured out my problem. My company security settings were preventing the nearby device communication. When I reset the phone those controls went away but location services was turned off by default. I gave the app location permission but needed to enable location in the android settings.

Good sleuthing!
