Jaguar = Budweiser?

According to the linked article, “Less than 24 hours and 74 million views”. Didn’t someone say (or proven ) that all publicity is good publicity? 😎
Right. Any car sales generated?
Views does not equal sales.
The lengths the Jaguar would go to, to grab an attention is flabergasting.

Agree! One of the weirdest stuff I have seen in a while!

Luxury cars are sold largely as lifestyle items and tokens of prestige and not so much mechanical objects.

But someone involved must have done some kind of market research. Who are they trying to sell to? I don't see a social message, woke or otherwise, just some people dressed in abstract costumes. The message appears to be a criminally lazy form of "think outside the box by buying our cars."

So was Infiniti shucking their customers?
I agree the Infiniti ads were as off the mark as is the new Jaguar rebranding.

However, the Infiniti Q45 that was their first car was a great car. Its 4.5 liter engine was more powerful than its main competitor's (Lexus 4.0 engine ) and it undercut Mercedes by 10's of thousands of dollars while offering an alternative that in its time was a compelling buy.

I convinced my father to buy one when they first came out and he kept it till he passed away(over a decade later). It still drove great after some 10+ years .

Years later I purchased an Infiniti M45 for my wife(Motor Trend Car of the Year). It also was a great car, but alas Infiniti lost it's way since then.

Sorry to get off track on the Lucid Forum. It got me started in response to the post about the Infiniti ads resembling the Jaguar ads

How silly.

Hopefully Lucid would never attempt to do that .
Looks like Jaguar and lucid are partnering. Good for lucid.
The ad for sure is ridiculous. Utter nonsense with nothing about the car unless it’sa hint at Jaguar getting into fashion industry and giving away its automobile segment to lucid.

Before partnership with Lucid moves forward, Jaguar should make a public apology first, and redo the commercial!!!

Sure, the commercial is weird. But I’ve seen worse. I lived through the 80s.

It sure is. I know many people including myself that won’t even touch a Jaguar after that ad and how they are changing their emblem. This will really hurt their brand, whatever is left of it.

I had a Q45t, and it was a great car. It had a lot of unusual features for that time, including rear wheel steering. Totally trouble-free for me, and then for my son when I gave it to him. Lots of zip and classic/timeless looks, to boot. I wish I still had that car.
