Is it worth scheduling service for a Christmas tree?

Should I schedule service or wait for software updates?

Wrapping up week 2 of ownership with less than 250 miles on the clock. Nov 2025 build date on 3.3.9 and latest fob update.

I unlocked the car this evening and was greeted by a Christmas tree of sorts (‘tis the season). Normally I use the fob for the walk-up unlock but this time I used the keycard, so maybe the car wasn’t fully awake when I opened the door and pressed the brake pedal. The car had been inactive and locked for 5 hours or so at this point. I put the car in Drive, moved a few feet, and then tried to shift into Reverse, which didn’t work - no response from the vehicle. I put the car back in Park which thankfully allowed me to shift into Reverse. I parked the car and did a few full reboots (after 2 chimes) with no improvement.

Car and sensors are clean and weather is clear at 60F.

Also received an error related to rear steering.

Is it worth scheduling service or do we think this will be addressed eventually with software updates?

I'd let it sleep for a few hours/overnight and see if the errors clear. If not, definitely schedule a service visit.

Sorry.

This company is embarrassing.

Great response bud

Scheduling service is a valid response. So is letting it sleep. Both are the correct path forward.

“This company is embarrassing” provides absolutely no value to either the poster or the forum at large.

Be honest..... you have my posts set to notify you directly don't you

My response was more useful than yours. Letting the vehicle computer reset to see if the errors go away is a completely valid next step. And if the errors persist, then service is needed. I don't see where I defend Lucid anywhere in my response. I was merely trying to help the OP. Take that for whatever it's worth...

No. I’m a mod. I don’t get to ignore anyone.

You’re part of anyone, as is everyone else. :)

Yea....it's true. You were, and I wasn't. Flowers there. Frustrated by this software shit after 3+ years of ownership, and sad to see Gravity is (potentially off to a worse start) just the same.

It's embarrassing when you've got nearly $200k invested between stock and car.

I have $200,000 reasons to be decently fuckin embarrassed.

So did the faults go away with a deep sleep?
Regardless, I would still contact service. Let them pull up the logs and advise you, even if you are not currently receiving the warnings.

@Samo23 - I feel your pain brother! Similar situation with stock investments. But we're all trying to help each other here but the frustration breaks through sometimes...

Sitrep after an overnight deep sleep:
  • resolved errors: regen, brake hold and rear steering
  • new errors: high beam assist, air suspension
  • ongoing errors: dreamdrive limited
I did notice that the windshield camera arrays have condensation on the inside of the windshield glass. Since the weather has been mild, I had turned off the climate control in the interests of increasing efficiency, but perhaps it is best to leave HVAC on to reduce cabin humidity and prevent condensation from forming.

I tried rebooting the car twice (after two chimes) but the errors remain, even after the condensation has been removed. Air suspension height options were grayed out in the Pilot Panel, and no height adjustments were possible. After a 30 minute nap, I was able to use the mobile app to adjust the height. I will report back later today after another sleep. My inclination is to wait it out and see what happens before scheduling service as the errors appear to be fluid and potentially impossible to replicate. My local SC also has no indicated availability in the app through the end of January so who knows what will happen by then.

Try letting it sleep more. Thats why you bought it, right?

Having done the research prior to taking delivery, I knew what I was getting into, so no worries.

Thank you to all, especially those who provided constructive advice.

I popped out for lunch and all errors were cleared (DreamDrive Limited disappeared after setting off, I think the camera just needed some data points while moving to confirm operation).

So to close the loop on the topic, for 3.3.9, deep sleep can clear regen, brake hold, and rear steering errors. Short sleep (30 mins) and adjusting height via app was sufficient to clear air suspension errors.

Minimizing interior humidity by leaving AC on auto can prevent interior condensation from forming. Condensation can prevent camera-related features like DreamDrive, forward collision warning, and high beam assist from initializing properly.

Customer care can access the error logs remotely without a visit to the SC. Just another option for you...
Thank you for the advice. Customer care (I reached out via text - very happy with the responsiveness) wasn't able to see any service alerts on their end but they created a case noting that I received these errors, and advised that I reach back out if the errors return towards scheduling a service center appointment.

I appreciate the heads on this issue. Seems like an engineering miscue there; ought to be solvable more efficiently than leaving AC on. I would have thought that unit would be vacuum sealed, like a double pane window.
