Is it safe to do update when car is stored?

My new 2023 Air Touring was delivered while I am on an 8 week trip. It is sitting in my garage and connected to WiFi. The app is connected but not paired to the vehicle. It is connected to the 110 AC charging and set to 55%. The current range is 310, down from 328 last Saturday. What is the chance that I will lose my current access to the car after the update? Is there anyway I can delay it until return next month?

Typically, the car won't update on its own. You have to click on the Install command for the process to start.
I'd wait until you come back, just in case something goes wrong.
My Air was bricked once during an update and was towed to SC.

The notice I received on the app was that it will be automatically installed or I could schedule for a time specific within 3 days. So it appears that i have no choice other than having someone go to the house and disconnect the WiFi.

Maybe that's Lucid way of forcing the updates on laggards.

In any case... it is safe to install remotely. Lucid follows a two-stage update with a rollback, so if it fails your old software will still be there.

hmmm, it may have already downloaded the update. when I got the update it took about 15min or so to download first, then it gave me another prompt to actually install it. Does anyone know after you have the update do you still need to be on Wi-Fi to install it?

Sure - anything can happen. Best laid plans and all that.

But I see no difference between “bricked while I was gone” and “bricked as soon as I got home” if that is the outcome.

For the peace of mind while away from home and you can still communicate with your car.

It's quite stressful if I am ex-communicated with my car away from home.

Thanks for all of the responses.

My LAT survived the update to 2.9.0 on the first try. Since then I have had the ability to use the app to charge it with L1 charging to keep it between 50 and 55%. I can unlock the doors. I can cool the cabin. And with my pan & tilt garage camera, I can keep an eye on it, MANY TIMES A DAY! 'Dying with anticipation every time I see it.

@Macrocosmcwh asked where I was going. My wife and I have been dog/house sitting on Orcas Island Washington since April 28 and are heading to Anchorage, Alaska for two weeks this Saturday. We get to meet our car on June 20.
