Ionna rocks

Nope; not yet, it seems. But paying through the screen on their chargers was seamless.
FWIW, I went onto the web site, and the search for a station feature is really bad. Have to enter a zip code, and then you're restricted to 100 mile radius. There's a map, but you can't zoom in. And, none within 100 miles of Silicon Valley.

You can zoom the map, you have to use CTRL-mouse wheel on a desktop browser though.

I was so excited to try the Ionna (in Scranton, PA) with my AT. Not that I expected anywhere near those speeds. Sadly, that was the first instance of my 2 cold-weather charging issues, the day that ended with the Drive System Fault so I barely even hit 100kWh. 😥

Bottom line is that they want to work with Plug & Charge and other apps and think there's app fatigue.
I agree with this. Last week I used an FPL EVolution charger -- it was great, but i wasted 10 minutes installing the app, verifying my email address, adding the payment method, etc, etc. Nobody wants apps for this (except for marketers who want to make a few extra pennies selling your identity and location data).

Plug-and-charge, yes. Contactless payment, great. Apps -- NO. Even with the Tesla app already installed on my phone it was still annoying to have to use it every time to get the membership rate vs. plug-and-charge.

Good thing you only have to set it up once. Your next charge should go faster.

I will probably never use another FPL EVolution charger, but I'll have to do this for a dozen more piddly little local networks. By the next time I'm in Florida, I'll have to reinstall the app and create an account again, I am sure. That's why the app model is garbage -- it was like when CVS wouldn't accept tap-to-pay for years because they wanted to force everyone to use the CVS-specific-scan-your-phone-to-pay app (which failed).

No consumer wants this, but the McKinsey consultants have convinced every one of these companies that can get a few extra bucks by selling your identity and location to data brokers so your insurance company can buy where you were, and McDonalds can push-advertise to you based on what they learned about what you were doing from the charging app, and whoever else wants to spy on you. It's a massive ecosystem of shitting on the user for fractions of incremental revenue.

Maybe same UI design

Yeah, I always make sure to:
1) Only share location while using the app
2) Ask App not to track

Unfortunately, for phone as key we'll need to always share location with the Lucid app.

Honestly having an app doesn't bother me much. Using an app to charge just isn't that big of a deal to me. Maybe you can use a credit card instead. I know the DCFC I use have credit card readers.

I use the Chargepoint app when we went through PA on our last summer road trip in the Air. Gotta love that 1000V NACS cords though, super easy to rotate off the post to reach the charge port...

The FPL EVolution stations don't have credit card readers. The one I had didn't even have a display -- there was a QR code that required the app, with an authenticated and logged-in account.

If you want an app, fine. You can even give a discount for using the app. But there MUST be a way to directly pay or this is garbage. CA specifically mandates this (which Tesla moaned about forever) -- I don't think this needs a federal law, but I think at least the nav should flag sites that don't support plug-and-charge or credit card payment.

They are all on PlugShare. You can filter by brand if you'd like. They provide real-time charger status to PlugShare unlike EA, so there's basically no reason to use Ionna's website.
