Inventory / Purchasing

Both GGT's we saw at KOP yesterday had HUD but they were disabled and had a piece of paper covering them. I ask why and they said they are not yet ready to be used. One person said there is a shortage of them from the manufacturer that makes the components and while that may be true, that does not explain why the Gravity models that have HUD installed are not being shown to the public yet. I feel Lucid is more likely are working on software bugs and they are not yet happy with the look of the images being projected. Just my opinion.

It’s got to be more than “bugs”, but whatever, it will work eventually.

I must admit the Gravity looked smaller in person than I was expecting but the interior is very roomy. The third row is crazy good for the size of the overall vehicle.

My guess would be that they are severely parts-constrained, and using what parts they do have available to produce cars for customers. This would make sense why Studios getting cars, but not allowing them to be test driven.

Based on @borski getting his Gravity Dream Edition within the next 20 days (due to titling) I’d say the HUD is shipping with the vehicles coming out the door. But maybe he can say if they are going to retrofit it.
Yes, we know that cars with HUD are shipping and that most DE’s (with HUD) should be shipped in the next month or so. What I am saying is that as these initial supplies of HUDs start to run out, Lucid may shift to non-HUD GGTs, at first for order holders, and THEN as inventory vehicles. Say by September they have ramped to capacity to build 250 GGT per month but only have 100 HUDs available per month. They build 150 non-HUD GGT with maybe 100 for order holders and put the remaining 50 out as “available inventory” cars.

Long story short, I could probably see likely hood of spare GGT inventory available prior to end of year but only on non-HUD vehicles.

Wait, how do we “know most DEs will ship this month”? I think there’s a 0% chance more than 25 GDEs deliver this month. That said, that may be all the GDE orders hey have at this point… 🤣

Agreed, I meant actual DE orders being delivered, however many or few they are. We could get an idea of when Lucid has delivered all DE orders when we start seeing regular GGTs with HUDs being delivered.

Feels like it’s a bit of both. From some of the earlier YouTube reviews there was at least a little more to see from the HUD on those test models. The only thing I saw in the showroom was the P for parking. I assume it would at least show speed or something but nobody knows for sure.

Your observation is one of the appealing things to me about the vehicle. I don't want a behemoth of an SUV that makes parking and maneuvering difficult, but I do want the passenger room and cargo capacity. Combine the packaging of the Gravity with the rear wheel steering, and you have a real winner.

Same.
