Funny, I happen to be in a great position to comment on this- I own a GGT with DHP, but it's in the shop for service. They gave me a base Touring loaner (1,300 miles on it). Car looks exactly the same- Black with stealth trim, Purlux interior. Been driving the loaner for a few days now, and these are my observations:
- For daily in-town driving, there's virtually no difference. plenty of power to accelerate onto the freeway, and never felt I was missing the extra ~250 Hp
-Definitely miss the DHP. Nothing extreme, but there's a nimbleness that's lacking in the loaner.
-What I miss the most is the 360 degree camera view. Didn't realize how much I've come to rely on it. Plus, it doesn't have the blind spot cameras that turn on with the turn signal.
-Oh, and I do miss the soft close doors. Mostly because I've gotten used to the gentle close, and I'm constantly getting reminded that you actually have to slam the door to close it.
-DD pro vs. premium? Well, we have the premium on our AGT, and it's fine. I have the DD pro 2 on my Gravity, and I used it a lot on a recent 1,500+ mile road trip. Didn't really miss the full hands-free aspect at all, so happy with my choice.
Finally, the Touring is significantly more efficient than the GGT. I'm averaging 3.4 mi/kWh in the Touring vs. ~2.95 in the GGT. Is that enough to make up for the 38% drop in battery capacity? I dunno, depends how you're going to drive it. Rough estimate is that you lose about 100 miles of real-world range with the Touring, but YMMV.
