I can’t imagine why someone would take an 18 month lease and try to terminate it early?
AFAICT, taking a 27 month lease on a P3 with the current incentives and buying it out the next day saves you over $10k on just purchasing it. If you own a Tesla, even more.

Oh I see what you’re saying. Yes, buying out the lease to get the $7500 fed incentive makes sense. Buying it out early may or may not make sense depending on the interest rate of the lease. Subsidized leases generally have very low interest rates so if the interest rate is less than what it would cost to finance ~6%. it would make sense to keep the lease for the full duration and THEN buy it out

Yeah, kind of. But in this case they are offering $15k incentive + $5k more for Tesla owners is $20k off, but only if you lease.

When I leased a BMW X3 years ago, I faced one unexpected challenge. I decided I wanted to buy it out at the end of the lease and was ok with the residual value specified in the lease terms. Even though I was buying the car I had been driving for 3 years, BMW needed me to drive to a service center for an inspection. There they found a number of minor issues that I needed to address first "to assure my car would be safe to sell". I was incredulous, since I was already driving the same supposedly unsafe car, and just wanted to buy it at the agreed value. That was the fourth BMW I owned (the first that was leased), and I said if they didn't waive the BS charges and just let me buy the car, they would lose a good customer for life. They didn't budge. I paid the repair charges, turned in the lease and won't ever buy another BMW.

My AT is only the second car I've leased - the incentives were too good to turn down. I hope the Lucid lease turn-in process is more friendly than BMW's.
Wow, that is insane!!! I too would never buy another BMW after that, what a load of crap!

Lucid should offer a “switch from Tesla” offer. Make it’s tasteful though. No bad blood, just “if you’re switching from another electric car company”, and keep it at that. No need to weigh into politics or preference.

The did! My dad got that on his AT in February. I forget the amount…I think it was $1000?

I am buying Gravity and keeping long term. No lease for me. The real question is if the market crashes this year...

Feel this poll deserves to serve as a reminder to Lucid what high lease cost will do for their roll out.

I could just pay cash for it, but there’s no way I can financially justify it, 120k vehicle is nowhere near need or must have.

Good thing I am not a priority one customer…let’s see if Lucid changes up their lease game once the early adoptions of pay anything customers run out.

Wow. That’s preposterous, they should sell the vehicle for what the market will bear. The Lucid Gravity is in line with other cars in the luxury SUV class. I highly doubt Lucid will be discounting vehicles to the extent your post seems to suggest. It’s also not 120k starting, btw.

Have a look at the lease thread, I came here after reading like 7 pages there.

120k being my config, I am sure everyone else is standing in line for a 100k base vehicle (probably not based on the order thread).

And yes, the market will definitely be setting the tone, so we agree there.

Given what Lucid has said about a very slow ramp, and the pent up demand, my guess is they won't feel the need to offer any significant incentives this year. The most I'd hope for is the current economic insanity settling out, and finance rates across the industry declining. But even that I don't hold out much hope for, since Trump seems to be deliberately embracing a strategy of economic chaos.
