Same. Maybe it’s just because I grew up in poverty, but I find it quite difficult to relate to some of the folks here for that very reason. I want to; I really do. But I recognize that even being in the position to own *one* Lucid, much less two, is an incredible thing.

It wouldn’t be if I didn’t like the car; I don’t buy expensive things just because they’re expensive. My clothes come from True Classic and Kohl’s, not Versace or Balenciaga.

I buy the things I buy because they serve my needs and make me happy. If they don’t do that, I don’t buy them.

That the Lucid vehicles are expensive are, for me, a bug, not a feature. I wish they weren’t. But I recognize that there is a ton of value being delivered for the price I’m paying. And value is different to different people.

I don’t really see the point in doing anything else. Owning a Lucid isn’t a status symbol for me; it’s a car, and it’s a car I love driving more than any other car on the planet that I have driven, to date.

For me, that’s all I need. Everything else is gravy.

(This also means that if another vehicle comes out I love driving more - I’ll buy it! I’m not a Lucid-stan, I’m an “awesome car”-stan)

These are the two biggest reasons I got the Air.

It drives AMAZINGLY. I keep looking for any excuse to drive it, including driving 3000 miles (or trying to, sigh) instead of just taking a plane.

And it looks bad-ass in a completely subtle way, without even a hint of tackiness or 'look at me' flash. I love a good 'sleeper' rocket.

Before you commit to the EQS, do yourself a favor and watch the various Youtube reviews of it. For the reviews I've seen, it has been overwhelmingly knocked for its driving behavior. Software can be fixed with over the air updates, driving dynamics cannot.

Also, I would expect the EQS to be competition for an Air, not a Gravity. My Air, other than one recall that was dealt with smoothly and quickly, has been flawless for 15 months and 20K miles.

Mercedes has suspended new EQS orders in the US market for 2026. So it will probably be an orphan. Better to get the Gravity in my view.

Ironically global EQS SUV production is at their Alabama plant. That would suggest that it will continue to be well supported in the USA.

Posts like this can help inform other potential customers of the typical Lucid experience. This level of detail is helpful for anyone who is considering purchasing a Lucid. Similar to OP, I have had an extremely negative experience with Lucid and their customer service team is essentially non-responsive and shows little interest in supporting their current customers.

I'm sorry but this is complete BS. Posts like the OP's are intended to inflame, not inform. He had no desire to engage the community--he just had it on blast.

I came to this forum to learn about the Lucid Air because I was growing disenchanted with my Audi EV. I was able to get a ton of useful information from users--some of whom had terrible experiences. In fact I was much better able to understand the potential ownership experience from the bad experiences than the good. Owners who took the time to explain their situation, and the rationale for their disenchantment with the brand--and the process that led to their disenchantment--were very helpful. But there was nothing helpful gained from any of these "drive by hatchet jobs" aimed at getting revenge on Lucid.

Everyone that follows Mercedes Benz (I do, as former MB owner and fan of the company) knows that there is no longer EQS branding, just conventional branding with “with EQ technology “, meaning “electrified”. Example, the upcoming GLC with EQ technology, which based on videos I have seen, Germany sourced, looks amazing. Right up there with the similar BMW iX3.

The OP disappeared, common for “drive-by-posting” people (or bots, hard to tell nowadays), but it would be silly to buy a MB EQS now, unless one has more money than brains.

For what it’s worth I completely disagree with your decision. I currently have two gravity grand touring’s at home. We could not be happier. Is it absolutely perfect to know is any car? Absolutely perfect absolutely not. Have there been slightly more problems maybe than others not really there’s a few few things here and there, but I think people are just so incredibly sensitive to every little tiny thing and I understand some people have not had.
Little tiny things in big ones and I understand that there are some probable defects or problems in the car has to be repaired in certain circumstances, but the truth is the software updates have squashed virtually every single bug that has existed in my car. I had a mechanical problem with one of the second row seats, but then again I had problems with the Mercedes I had in the past the fact there’s this car looks like nothing else on the road. It also drives better than any car I’ve ever had in my life of this type. In fact, it drives better than most sedans and even sports cars I’ve had this is an outstanding car unique in every way it captures people‘s attention. It looks stunning the screen the graphics. The overall experience is second to none and absolutely unique in every way, so this car is amazing and I love being an early adopter of this with the understanding that it may not be perfect. It’s a great car in every way and yes, Lucid can improve certain things like the sales experience the Delivery experience and estimations of when A Car will be ready, but they are producing them as fast as I can and guess what that means the people are buying them as fast as possible. This is a card that has literally changed the world in terms of what an SUV can be.

And it is way above a Tesla X in terms of overall driving experience basically it’s all it’s a very luxurious extremely fast amazing car I could not be happier so I hope one day you reconsider your decision and get this incredible vehicle as I said I have two of them and we could not be happier
And the car that I’m giving back now to get my second gravity is a Lucid air from 2024 which is also at the time I considered the best car I ever drove or owned. It was also amazing a rocket super stable on the ground with an amazing experience and yes, the 3.0 operating system upgrade that we’ve all been waiting for for the Lucid air will hopefully come at some point but either way it’s still amazing so again hope you change your mind and get this incredible car and started enjoying it like so many other people

This probably isn’t the car for you." I bought an Air Touring three years ago, It was my first "performance" car and my first "luxury" vehicle. I didn't buy it for either. I just wanted a great EV with terrific range and Lucid offered the best range of anything on the market. Now after three years I take what Borski wrote very seriously.. I really don't like driving! To me it is a utility. I desire to travel from point A to point B in relative comfort and safety. I've taken many cross-country road trips over the past 50 years in a variety of mid-line vehicles starting with a Mazda RX2. In retrospect I realize what I was driving never made that much difference. Don't get me wrong, the Lucid is an amazing car, it is simply that it's wasted on me.

Two thoughts:
• If you don't like driving, get a recent Tesla with HW4 and the front camera - the higher end trims come with FSD already.

• While I do enjoy driving (especially on curvy mountain roads), I don't enjoy hundreds of miles of road tripping on highways. However, after just completing an 800+ mile round trip in our new Gravity, I can say it's MUCH less tiring to drive than our previous 2023 Model X LR. Suspension, quiet cabin, very comfortable seats, better sound system, etc. all combine to make the trip less tiring for us compared to non-FSD Tesla driving.

I've now owned my AGT for 40 months and 40,000 miles and it's the only car I have ever owned that just kept getting better as time passed. Lucid built an exceptional drivers car and I'm sure I will always have at least one Lucid in the stable.

When I finally chose and put down cash money for a Lucid (4 years ago) half the reason was to support the amazing technology. I don't see many posts about the Lucid parts one can't see / feel. This is a multi-million dollar car. We are getting it for cheap. It's not a kludge: an ICE car with an electric motor stuffed under the hood and a battery duck-taped underneath (talking to you Ford, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, ETAL).

I wanted to support EVs but Tesla just didn't vibe for me. I saw my first Tesla, the roadster, in Seattle over a decade ago...before the Model S was out. It was OK for a bastard, a kludge,but obviously a concept car not ready for prime time. I kept studying the Model S over the years; went to the showroom to see each iteration over a decade, but something wasn't right -- they looked cheap inside...like the builders did not care -- took no pride in their work...kinda like a Dodge. The body styling was nice because it was not Tesla = it was not "in house". It was not a "ground-up" EV. It was an ICE car, kludged-up.

I heard about Lucid, a ground-up, EV purpose- build with brilliant leadership ( a car guy ). I bought stock early to support the vision and tried to get on the Dream Edition list ( was too late).
I always bought "used" cars until this ... tried to rationalize ordering a bespoke car that wasn't even built yet by telling myself (and wife) that it was important to be an early-adopter of a promising EV company with a vision of excellence. I waited even longer when they released the GT model because they couldn't find a can of Cosmos Silver paint. The silver GTs were delayed almost a year. It wasn't easy to wait and read posts here about what i was missing. Meanwhile, the stock I bought early went way way up...a sign from Heaven. I sold and gains paid for the car!

I doubt there is a better car out there still. I haven't seen or heard of one.

Take a long trip ... it's so nice! Sometimes, I even let the wife drive. I thought I was in the dog house for ordering it and not telling her. She gets it. She told me just the other day while she was driving on the Turnpike, " Husband, this is a really nice car."

I'm a big fan of interior lighting but the Mercedes interior lighting is way too much for me. You see them driving past at night and the car is lit up like a Christmas tree inside.
