Maybe that cover will magically appear in the 2027 version, along with a cover for the exposed wires in the 2nd seat.

I am with you. The HUD height is fine for me (I am 5'11"), the position and brightness is not an issue. I do have the image set fairly low. The graphics are crisp and clear and there is no tilt to the image. The more that I use it, the more I like it. My car was delivered Dec 26, so earlier Gravity may be different than my experience.Am I the only one who likes the HUD? I find that I don't have to look away from the road for anything driving-related thanks to it. Even the blind spot warning is shown there, and the next 2 nav turns
That’s what someone else on this board (I can’t remember who) called that gap behind the second row seats. I thought it was appropriately named.Watermelon holder?
I've become OK with the HUD contents itself. yeah, it would be nice to be adjustable to lower in the windshield. I wonder if they thought this height was needed for the coming AR overlay?I am with you. The HUD height is fine for me (I am 5'11"), the position and brightness is not an issue. I suspect it might be a function of the size of the driver. Since we are all of different heights, we view the windshield from a different angle so what may seem fine to some will be annoying to others.Interesting to know. I can’t understand how vertical positioning wasn’t caught and fixed in the Gravity prototype. Don’t get me started on the watermelon holder.
Seat position probably as well. It's a little better if I sink the driver seat down to the floor and then adjust from there. I prefer to sit higher usually.I suspect it might be a function of the size of the driver. They wasted so much time and money on crap like this. Useless HUD, Atmos, Face Recognition, at the expense of stuff we actually wanted like reliable fobs and CarPlay. It’s unbelievable really.I wonder if this option would just be removed entirely for the 2027 model. Can't imagine its worth trying to make it work at this point. Don't know why they even thought it was a good idea to begin with as the Gravity already has a massive screen already being pretty front and center to your field vision.
They need it to be competitive with Audi, Mercedes, BMW, etc. as they all offer HUD’s and most with some form of AR. Once again though, instead of just buying one off the shelf, Lucid decided to design their own and it’s bitten them in the ass with not being able to deliver full functionality along with a bunch of reflection issues.I wonder if this option would just be removed entirely for the 2027 model. I wonder if they actually did get one off the shelf. The viewing angle problem may be that the glass windshield on the Gravity is sloped differently from what the HUD was designed for. They need it to be competitive with Audi, Mercedes, BMW, etc. as they all offer HUD’s and most with some form of AR. I have messaged inquiring whether the AR features are finally off the table as they were not shown in the software roadmap on investor's day. Haven't heard back...Well it's official, I'm in the "I turned the HUD off" camp. Lucid recalibrated my HUD and made it unusable. It became out of focus requiring you to tilt your head forward, it was so far up the windshield that it obstructed vehicles in front of you and when you had it set to the lowest angle it would cut the text off at the bottom. It went back for a second time, this time for a HUD replacement and calibration of the new unit. Lo and behold, the new one does exactly the same thing. There's no amount of adjusting the seat to get the thing in focus and rather than take it back for a 3rd recalibration which will require a minimum of 1 to 2 weeks in the shop I've just decided to give up on it. Maybe when they deliver the AR (If ever) I'll revisit it but for now, it's staying off for the foreseeable future.
That’s a shame. One more thing to add to my list of things when I bring my Gravity in for its first yearly service this December. Granted my list at three items, is not that long.Well it's official, I'm in the "I turned the HUD off" camp. Lucid recalibrated my HUD and made it unusable. I can only assume they're not off the table but the fact they weren't mentioned on the roadmap leads me to believe it's not coming anytime soon.I have messaged inquiring whether the AR features are finally off the table as they were not shown in the software roadmap on investor's day. The HUD has really been the only disappointment with my GGT.
By the way, what’s “AR”?
Totally agree. To me, this is currently the biggest disappointment with the Gravity as it stands now. This is a much bigger issue to me than the slight delay on Car Play that has all the Apple Fan Boys in a tizzy over on that other thread. That’s a shame.
