I’d say layoffs to the service department are starting to have an effect…

Just went to pickup my rental.

Lucid put my name in wrong, there’s no car for me. I hate this company so much.
At this point, respectfully, I'd expect no less for you 😅

How have you not lemon lawed this car yet? The aggravation would have made me lose my mind.

The fact that your experience, or hmp10’s experience, is even a possibility will absolutely keep me from buying a Lucid, unfortunately - even though I love the way they look and drive, I would be starring in my own Falling Down movie (look it up - worth watching) if I had to deal with any of this nonsense. Too bad because I’m a good target conquest customer for Lucid and an EV guy.

Lucid is saying its not eligible for repurchase (now at 79 days) for these reasons they say at least 49 (?) of the days don't count:

-Interstate transportation and logistics time required to move the Vehicle
-Intake, check-in, and post-service administrative processing unrelated to active repair of
any defect;
-quality assurance repairs
-cosmetic repairs

So they are arguing that if they have your car sitting in the service bay due to "intake check in and administrative processing" for weeks at a time, it doesn't count as "out of service", or if they have to redo poor quality assembly or repairs, it doesn't count.

Beware of Lucid, this is who the company really is. Also I am not under NDA and none of this is protected info.

I will say that ANY car company will resist Lemon law. It's baked into the process. You have to force their hand. Is it a good customer experience, no. However are you really even a customer of the brand after Lemon Law? Not dismissing your frustration in general.

Also wanted to note, since you are a loud voice here , that my service experience has been the polar opposite of yours.

Mobile service has handled all of my repairs over the past 3 years except twice. They have come to my home or to my gym parking to perform any service. They have been very easy to schedule. Most of my experience is with the mobile service in the DFA area and once in the Bay Area for annual service since I moved.

The 1st service that required transport to Houston was set up efficiently and my car was returned to me in 3 business days. This was for an HV Battery replacement,. The flat-bed transported the car in both directions in an enclosed trailer. I was allowed to pick anything I wanted at Enterprise.

The second service was for camera realignment which had to be done at the repair facility in Dallas (not a service center but more of the remote service base). They had my car back in 24 hours so I passed on a loaner.

I've always been called back in a timely fashion for service including from Millbrae.

I also have an upcoming service for my HV battery because it has phoned the mother ship to report a problem. I do have to wait a couple of months for the service but since I'm having zero issues with the car and will be given a lucid loaner while it is being looked at and or repaired I don't really mind waiting. This is at Millbrae that proactively reached out to me concerning the battery.

Not dismissing your poor service experience in any way. I would be terribly frustrated if I had to deal with what you have been confronted with. For me however this is my favorite car of all time and also my best service experience of any brand.

I'll address both. I have no issue with any service staff. All great people trying their hardest. I have never had a problem getting ahold of anyone either. The problem is parts availabillity, time in service, and QA of their own repairs. My mobile service experience was a disaster, and I don't think representative of the usual experience. Both guys quit and there isn't even mobile service for my area anymore until they can hire someone.

For the way they handle lemons, its just insulting. The idea that "administrative time" is somehow my fault just shows how Lucid blames customers for their own problems. By that token, they could have my car for a year if they felt like it. And blaiming their own QA? Please. It's absurd and offensive. My only comparison was an Infiniti lemon, and even they were better to deal with in the process than Lucid has been-especially since it was Lucid themselves that initiated the buy back procedure!

That's wild. Apart from driver's side wind noise (3rd attempt to address coming up on June 5th) and a few adjustments to interior parts, I haven't had many issues with my AT.
I think I mentioned on another thread going through the BBB Autoline. Definitely an edge case but that's why I opt out of arbitration agreements. Started with Tesla and continued with Lucid.

Yeah this is BBB Autoline handling it. They kinda chuckled at Lucids response and told me it doesn’t matter why the car was out of service. Not to mention, service has had me send pics or video every time before ever getting the car shipped.

Speaking of shipping….another guy said they started using “Run Buggy” which is some brokering app for shipping. All I know is it’s been 4-5 days and nobody came to pickup the car, Lucid had a hard time getting ahold of them. Eventually they did and Run Buggy told me they “are having a hard time finding a shipper in your area” 🤔 so it’s just hanging out I guess. I hope Lucid dumps these guys. Their usual shipping service was great.

I just didn’t know. I bought the car with intention of keeping it. I even cancelled my original BBB complaint when they seemed to have fixed it finally (before roof 3 broke). I hate doing all this stuff.

I know what you mean... you'd rather be enjoying the car than being here complaining about this poor ownership experience. But thanks for sharing the experience with us, not reassuring but helpful info for the owners going thru similar situations.

Lucid is now using the “Runbuggy” app for car shipping, which looks like a Door Dash but for car shipping?

Anyways the shipper didn’t show up 😂

Neither me nor Lucid can catch a break I swear. We will try later!

On the bright side, your Air was not bricked with this week's update as some Airs have!

I'm telling you, your constant negative posts are not helping! You think Lucid doesnt read your hate posts?

Yeah, I should have but realized too late. They should clearly inform us in writing and make us sign a clause on seperate paper saying we are opting into or out of arbitration. US capitalism is a piece of crap sometimes.

Its only 2 out of how many? They constantly post so you feel the issues are universal, or at least more common than actual reality.

I'm not against them posting, but you shouldn't believe that is the norm.

You are depriving your self of the best sport sedan and SUV ever made! I usually sell my car every 3-4 years...I can't think of any other car I would buy. Lucid's are THAT GOOD!

BTW, my car had a few minor trim issues adressed 3 years ago. Since then , absolutely no issues except minor software quirks that dissappeared with updates.

I actually have had an amazing Lucid service experience recently. On Tuesday I started hearing a loud rattle from the bottom of the car which got worse by the end of the day. I filed a service request that night through lucid website. On Wednesday at 7.30 am I got both email and call from lucid service and they told me they will take care of the issue. At 9 am the car was picked up by a tow service on the way to Millbrae. The service advisor called me same day assuring me that they will get back to me next day. On Thursday morning he called me back saying that they found a usual problem of a loose nut in suspension or something like that and that the car will be ready for pick up at 11 am. They provided me with Uber ride to the service and I picked it up at noon. I have never had that fast turnaround with any of my prior cars.

I think maybe they are trying to contain costs now, and its backfiring. For example, suddenly they started using "Run Buggy" to ship service cars, instead of a direct broker (the roadside assistance guy is a truck broker and a really good one). But suddenly I had "RunBuggy", which is some sort of bidding for transport type of deal. Like U Ship.

At first RunBuggy couldn't get a driver for almost a week.

Then they got a driver, but he didn't show up at all, and didn't respond to my messages (you have to deal with car haulers directly with RunBuggy, which sucks)

The driver didn't show up, ignored my texts, then started texting me Sunday morning demanding telling me hes showing up at my house 45 minutes to take my car. Didn't update the app, didn't do anything, just started texting my personal phone. I said I can't, the window was yesterday and I waited 6 hours and nobody came and its literally Sunday morning. Then he demanded I give him the car "monday morning". Again, nothing in the app or record. I ignore it and email RunBuddy support, who doesn't reply.

Today, I start getting more text demanding I give them my car. App not updated, support ignored.

Then some guy from Chicago (no business number, no caller ID) calls my personal cell phone says hes from that company but gives a different company name, and demands I provide the car "in 2 hours". Meanwhile I'm at work in another city, I can't just bail. Again, RunBuggy is has not updated the order to show a different shipper, or a different contact info, or even a different window...but sends a warning with bold letters telling you to verify and identify anyone who comes to pick up the vehicle.

So I call RunBuggy to find out what's up and they don't know. Their systems are down tell me to call back. Eventually I call back and they have no idea what is going on, why their drivers are calling and texting me from different numbers, tell me don't give the car to anybody they will "Try to find someone else", meanwhile yeah I got a phone full of messages from pissed off truck drivers!!!

Anyways I got a call in to Lucid to see if they can use their usual guy. @marqie if you have any pull in this, please tell them not to use RunBuggy.
