been a while for me as i have windows auto update on, but i rarely use that machine. however, I do believe it will show you all updates if you do check manually, so it makes it a different use case.but this is exactly what Windows does on the update screen, then you press Check and find software waiting.
nonetheless i think comparison is comparing apples and oranges. even if an update is missed, one could find the updates, download and install them. i'm not a young pup anymore, but i don't ever recall being "out of warranty" and get stuck on a version. whether it was windows, linux etc, *I* always had a way to recover. I don't believe that to be the case here.
