How many soft resets should you do to correct a faulty shifter before taking into service?

So the last 3 weeks or so I've started to get the faulty shifter issue. Unlock the vehicle, hit the break to move the seat, CAR STUCK IN PARK and won't shift to D or R.

The first couple times I had to lock and unlock the vehicle to get it to work. Today that failed and I had to sit and wait for a soft reboot to fix it.

So my question is how many times should I be encountering this before taking it into service or is this just something that comes and goes like the rest of the funky bugs I've dealt with. Thanks!

I think it's a software issue that started with the most recent OTA. You can call service but unless they've found an association with some specific revision piece of hardware, it likely won't really be fixed until the next OTA.

That said, I've only had it happen twice, and both times it worked after a single reboot. So if you're dealing with it much more often, it might be worth calling service.

It seems to be mainly happening after a charging session as opposed to just being parked out somewhere.

Unfortunately it’s a software issue that started after the latest update. I am taking my car to service next week.but I have no idea how they would handle it. Nobody seems to know what to do about it . Talked with service several times and provided video clips with time stamp.
It happens more after the car is plugged in but it also happens when it’s not . I started a thread ( Car won’t go to DRIVE ) a couple of weeks ago and you can see for yourself the issues lots of us are experiencing.
Honestly I think this is going to be my last and only Lucid when my lease comes up in few months . I understand software issues with self driving , cruise control , settings keep changing etc, but not being able to DRIVE the car when you need to it’s simply unacceptable.
Very disappointing!

This is correct. It's an issue in the latest OTA for some cars (I don't know numbers, but it's not a majority; it is sizable enough though that it isn't a one-off).

My understanding is the next OTA should fix it, and they're working on it as we speak.

I have heard through the grapevine that turning off easy entry may be a workaround; I can't test it, since I don't have this problem. Can one of you who does have it happen with every time you get in the car test it?

As mentioned, it happened to me only twice, but it did happen and I don't have easy entry enabled.

And while I know "correlation does not equal causation", I will note that it hasn't happened since I disabled passive unlock. (Still have passive lock set)

Got it. Interesting. The grapevine may very well be incorrect. :)
