High-pitched ringing noise

I wonder if the pitch of this noise is in the same frequency range as the constant Tinnitus I have ringing in my head 24/7?

I have the same issue. I'm wondering if it's effecting all cars but only some are hearing it, or only some cars have the issue. Glad someone figured out it maybe the window switch lights. I can confirm that turning the headlight off makes the high frequency sound go away. It's very distracting to me and and starting to give me a slight headache. I don't think turning music on is a good solution. I wish I knew about this issue before i got my LAT25. I hope there is some kind of a resolution to this.

@Cosmo Cruz @borski - OK, call me crazy but I recorded it in my parked car. Microphone was nestled in the driver door forward set of window switches.

The noise is plainly audible to me. It's at ~7848 Hz and you can do your own FFT on my recording and look at the spectrum to verify. Headlights/window switch lights were on at the start. I turn them off at about 13.5 seconds, on again at 20 seconds, and off again at 27 seconds.
I can clearly hear the noise when I crank up my headphones a bit, and it turning off and on at your timestamps. That would drive me crazy too. Have you contacted Lucid about this or heard of any resolution?

I'm looking at possibly buying a LAT 2025 very soon, but discovered this headlight noise issue from Out of Spec's video on their 2025 Air, which brought me to this forum post. However, now I'm having hesitation because both my partner and I are quite sensitive to high-pitched noises like that.

Yes, reported to Lucid Customer Care. Mobile tech disconnected one set of window switches in my driver door which helped. A week or so ago when my car was at the service center for the sound tape TSC, I asked about it and no resolution yet. I'm glad @outofspeckyle is pressing the issue with them.

If I were you I'd sit in an Air, turn on the headlights, and see if you notice it. I think a lot of people can't.

As suggested above, go test drive a Touring and while sitting in the car before driving, turn on the headlights and see if you hear the high pitched noise. I cannot un-hear it but my recent audiology testing tells me that my hearing is excellent for my age so very possible that not everyone hears it or is bothered by it. Please report back!

I think I am hearing the same thing, although for me it almost sounds like it comes from the speakers. I have a late 24 Touring with Surreal Sound Pro.

It’s encouraging to hear that they are at least taking the issue seriously and trying to fix it. I appreciate the response! I’ll definitely do a headlight sound test tomorrow when I visit the Lucid Studio, thanks!

@Nitemist I will definitely give that a try tomorrow. I was able to hear the sound @idiot900 recorded, but maybe it’ll be different in person. Unfortunately they don’t allow Lucid test drives here due to stupid state laws but I can at least play around with the car in the studio. Have to drive close to 3 hours to Canada to be able to test drive one.

@Nitemist , @idiot900,
Just reporting back after my lucid studio visit. I sat in the showroom car (2025 air touring, with all doors closed) and flipped the headlights, brights, and parking lights on/off but could not hear the high-pitched ringing sound. The showroom had some people talking, so unless it has to be dead silent around the car, I didn’t hear it. I did hear the noise @idiot900 recorded using my headphones at higher volume, so either this car didn’t have it, maybe it was too loud outside the car, or I just can’t hear it in person.

Thanks for reporting back! This makes me want to do the same next time I have a chance to drop by a studio...maybe newer window switches don't have this problem. I hear the noise while driving at night so it definitely doesn't have to be dead silent.

My 2023 touring has this same issue. It's going in for service to replace the drivers seat and troubleshoot the doors- will add this to the list. It's just perceptible enough to be annoying but 12 months in and I've learned to live with it- another 6 months is not a big deal.
