High pitch electrical noises

Could you say more on how you went about getting in there and taping this? The high pitched noise coming from the window buttons is giving both my wife and myself migraines…
Just using tape to seal the gaps between the switches and the switch housing as best as possible without restricting the motion of the switches. There’s no trick to it. Made a significant difference on my Air.

But with a recent software update it seems Lucid has fixed this problem in the Air. There are still other (less annoying) high pitched noises but not as far as I can tell from the window switches.

Tweezers, a tiny screw driver to poke, and patience. It is a bit tricky to get it in there nicely because there is no space to work.

Right now at night when the headlights are on cup your hand and cover your window switches. The majority of the electrical sound is coming from there. The tape is meant to seal the tiny gap between the switch and the housing.

I don't notice the tape with typical switch use. I did this to all switches and had probably a 70% reduction. Without this it was highly grating to my ears. It does make a difference but it's not perfect.

That’s simpler than I expected, thank you. I ordered a door trim removal kit thinking I had to get in there. Maybe I’ll try that anyway and give it a shot.

Be careful if you do remove the door trim. I was told by a service tech that at least on the Air it's easy to break the clips.

Any updates to this from your end? My cars been in the shop and they’re saying the noise appears to have disappeared on its own possibly with a software update, but I’m highly skeptical.

How old are you? Asking in earnest.

I cannot hear a thing, and I'm 38. Strongly considering if I need to visit an audiologist now lmao. :P

I'm not saying I don't believe you; I just genuinely have never heard. what you're talking about and I wonder what the frequency is.
To be honest high frequency tones due to induction coil vibration are out of range for pretty much anyone over like 20.
I can’t hear 20khz and haven’t for years so if what you hear is that don’t worry as it will gradually go away

Some of us might be a bit on the spectrum too…i go through all my cars with felt tape because if I hear a buzz or rattle it is ALL I will hear.

It sounds much better with recent software updates (2.10 and the one before it, as well as the new UX 3). Not perfect but much better.

The noise I was worried about is ~7 kHz.

Ah, did you have the Air? I assumed you were in the gravity.
I have the Air. I did also hear what sounded like the same noise, from the window switches, in a Gravity at an owners event and pointed it out to a Lucid exec in attendance who also heard it. Don't know whether the Gravity updates fixed that too.

On r/carav a member made a mobile browser extension that can help you find the source or you can use DB meter app.
I used a laptop and a small USB microphone that could be nestled among the window switches, then did a Fourier transform in an audio editing app and looked for the peaks that changed along with the window switch lights.
