A2Z had a prototype extension cord, but I haven't seen it offered for sale yet.
 
Beware of pictures that may still show the L2 cable though (like A2Z did). HUGE difference. To handle DCFC amperage, any extension cord has to thick, heavy, stiff, and expensive. Just storing it in the car is gonna be a chore, let alone wrangling it for use.

Tesla initially planned to offer an SC extension cable, but then dropped those plans as being impractical. The actual V3/V4 cables are liquid-cooled, but of course extensions cannot be, thus have to be much bigger.

The narrative seems to suggest they should be perfectly safe.

Are there any reasons (Wonderbox-specific, or in general) to be concerned about the 400 amp ceiling?

Well, it’s incompetence on Tesla not installing 1000V compatible chargers…..when its competitors have 800v architecture. Trying to dumb down the competition….so much for “ mission is to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. “

Give it a rest. Tesla built its network for its cars which are predominantly 400V. The only reason the V4’s probably came out in the first place was because the CyberTruck was an 800V platform. They were building it for themselves and no one else until everyone ran scrambling to them to get access.

You want to talk incompetence? How about the incompetence of EA for building the most unreliable network in America. How about the incompetence of the federal government not holding EA accountable (given why the network was built) when people were kicking and screaming about reliability problems. That incompetence is what forced automakers to go to Tesla asking for access in the first place.
 
I’d say it was more incompetent to build the Air without NACS and on an electrical architecture that couldn’t take advantage of the existing supercharger network more so than Tesla not building for the benefit of everyone else. As a Tesla owner, I wish no one could use SCs except Tesla. Now everyone should be forced to adapt to the Tesla system, not the other way around.

I completely disagree. When the Air was designed Supercharger Access was not on the table. 400V architecture is is outdated and inefficient. Even Tesla demonstrates this by going to 800V on the CyberTruck. There is no reason that every EV should be driving around with outdated 400V technology just because that is what Tesla did.

Right, because it makes total sense to call Lucid “incompetent” for not building around a network that was literally off-limits to them when the Air was developed. They built the car based on the future not legacy tech which the SC network is using.
 
That’s a fair statement, but I’m pointing out that it is silly to blame Tesla for the other makers’ inability to charge at higher speeds using Tesla chargers. The SCs were here first. 😜
