Does anyone have guidance on playlists on USB drives? File format, location on the drive, file path in the playlist. A working example would be helpful.

Not sure if I understand your question. Years ago, I bought a complete Beatles USB with both FLAC and MP3 songs. I copied the albums to a smaller drive, and also created a 'Songs' playlist with around 100 of my more favored titles. If I open one of the Albums, it will cycle through those songs as expected, as it will if I open the 'Songs' playlist. Shuffle works on both. The only issue I have is that since one of these recent 'robustness' updates, my home screen seems to be locked on showing 'USB' and the album covers of the last four or five songs... even if I am currently playing Spotify. It does show everything properly if I click on the songs icon, but not on the home screen. Hope this helps.

What I have had for the past 20 years in Audis is the ability to have multiple playlist (.M3U) files on the USB drive along with the music files. The infotainment would parse those playlist files and give me playlists I could select and play or shuffle. I was expecting the same here.

I don’t think m3u files work today, but please do try it and report back. FLACs etc do though.

No playlist file formats are recognized. No problem with a variety of music file formats: mp3, flac, m4a, wav, wma all play fine. I do have a playlists workaround. I have 8,500 music files managed using MusicBee on my PC. It will export playlists to a removable device and create a folder for each playlist. This can produce some duplicates in the file structure, but the Gravity seems to handle it fine. I can see everything by album, artist, and genre. Or, open each folder and play the files in the folder giving me a means of playlist functionality. The only drawback is that the infotainment always sorts by track name in the metadata. This is good enough for me and I hope it helps someone else that has been building a digital music library since the '90s and refuses to let it go.
