Hello - hoping forum owners can help. I tried customer care - they are closed on Sundays. I tried Roadside assistance #. They send me back to Customer Care (which is closed). I took my Lucid Air in for service. They gave me a Gravity as a loaner. I headed out to grab dinner. When I went to the parking lot to get back in the car, the Gravity will not come to life. The doors will not unlock. I have the actual key (pushed the buttons), the black flat key card - put that up on the A pillar- nothing.

Does anyone here have any advice? I’m stranded otherwise and don’t know what to do.

I am surprised that the key card did not work. You can also try removing the key fob battery and reinserting the battery. That resets the fob.

Walk 100’ away from the car and hang out for 15 minutes

Have you tried taking the battery out of the key fob for 10 seconds and putting it back in?

Thanks for all the help from Forum Owners! I tried walking away (mall was nearby). Came back 30 minutes later. Did not work. Walked back into the restaurant and they gave me a knife to pop open key fob. Reset battery. THAT WORKED!! Thanks for the tips everyone. Back on my way on this Sunday! :) Hopefully no more adventured.

Fantastic! Should have a Lucid branded Swiss Amry knife as a standard accessory with the car!

Make sure to take that key card back to the service center on Monday to get them to fix that issue. It should have worked. They might have to re-pair it, if they did in the first place, to the car.

It only takes about 60-90s for the car to fall asleep, but it’d need to wake up first. :)

The workaround for a fob issue has reliably been taking the battery out and reinserting it; not that that should be necessary, but it does seem to work every time.

The keycard issue is separate; ours has literally never failed, and if it doesn’t work consistently it likely isn’t paired to the vehicle, or there is something wrong with the sensor. Either way, service is the answer there.

Not to state the obvious, but to be clear was this a wakeup or entry issue that this user had?

Do owners know that you can *push* the door handle to force a wakeup?

Does that work on yours? It doesn’t on mine. Usually.
It’s my main method of unlocking / locking the car, though I only use it to unlock the car when my phone is taking longer than I’d like. Works every time though. What happens on yours?

They just don’t do anything they get stuck in. Seattle confirmed it’s broken but they didn’t know how to fix it so it’s getting sent to Rocklin.

Ah, @LucidDropkick had this at one point I believe; needed door handles replaced.

My car needs a good 10-15 sec of holding the keycard on the pillar if the car is really asleep to wake it up. I have been basically exclusively using the keycard to wake the car up and then using the App for remote start and drive the car with no fob in the past week....

I’ve seen it take that long, though very rarely. But I’ve never seen it not work.

I do seem to have better experience if I push the door handle in as I hold it there.

But I don’t know if it’s the equivalent of pressing the “walk” button at the crosswalk heh

Lucid just told me its an issue (they think) with their server, apparently even that funtion requires a cell phone connection and the car tries to authenticate it via a the app, and they can't really fix it without "engineering troubleshooting with your Lucid username and password"

I asked if that is true, they have no way to test otherwise? Without my credentials??" They said yes.

Their own software engineers cannot diagnose their own software, without each users credentials.

So I guess that's it.
